James B. Lynch
James B. Lynch (died 12 March 1954) was an Irish Fianna Fáil politician, who served for 16 years as a Teachta Dála (TD) before being elected as a Seanad Éireann, Senator for three years. A physician and surgeon before entering politics, Lynch was elected to Dáil Éireann on his first attempt, at the 1932 Irish general election, 1932 general election, when he stood as a Fianna Fáil candidate in the 7-seat Dublin City South (Dáil constituency), Dublin South constituency. He was the last candidate to be elected, and took his seat in the 7th Dáil. He was returned at the 1933 Irish general election, 1933 general election, but did not contest the 1937 Irish general election, 1937 general election. He stood again at the 1938 Irish general election, 1938 general election and was re-elected. Seanad Éireann
Seanad Éireann (, ; "Senate of Ireland") is the upper house of the Oireachtas (the Irish legislature), which also comprises the President of Ireland and Dáil Éireann (the lower house). It is commonly called the Seanad or Senate and its members senators (''seanadóirí'' in Irish, singular: ''seanadóir''). Unlike Dáil Éireann, it is not directly elected but consists of a mixture of members chosen by various methods. Its powers are much weaker than those of the Dáil and it can only delay laws with which it disagrees, rather than veto them outright. It can introduce new legislation. It has been located, since its establishment, in Leinster House.
