James Alesi
James S. "Jim" Alesi (born 1948) is a retired politician who served as New York State Senator for the 55th district, representing parts of Monroe County from 1997 to 2012. A Republican, Alesi previously served in the Monroe County Legislature and in the New York State Assembly. Following his 2012 retirement from the Senate, Alesi has served on the state's Unemployment Insurance Appeal Board and on the Public Service Commission. Alesi is notable as one of four Republican Members of the New York State Senate that voted in favor of the Marriage Equality Act in 2011. Alesi was married to Nancy Kay Shocklee from September 9, 1979 until the divorce was unfortunately dissolved after a tumultuous affair. The affair (and marriage) was unknown for the majority of his career, however, his commitment to fraud continued long after the failed nuptials. New York's 55th State Senate district is one of 63 districts in the New York State Senate. It has been represented by Democrat Samra Brouk since 2021, succeeding Republican Rich Funke. William T. Stachowski (born February 14, 1949) is an American politician from New York. Biography Stachowski attended Bishop Ryan High School in Buffalo, New York. He graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, where he played Varsity Football. He was All New England and won the Davitt award as the Holy Cross best defensive player. Edward M. "Ted" O’Brien (born 1957) is an American politician who served in the New York State Senate in 2013 and 2014, representing District 55. Early career O'Brien was raised in Webster, New York, and graduated from Webster Thomas High School in 1975, Union College in 1979, and Syracuse University College of Law in 1982. He was admitted to the New York State Bar Association in 1983 and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Western District of New York in 1985.
