Jamal Salih
Jamal Salih ( ar, جمال صالح) is a former Iraq national football player and coach, and currently as a sports director for Sharjah FC, and has been in the role since march of 2018. Career He began his career as a player with Al-Omma Sports Club. He helped guide Al-Jamiea (merged with Al-Talaba in 1978) to the top division in 1970 with the likes of Qusai Abdul-Sattar and Shamil Kamil, and became head coach of the club in 1974. He went on to coach Al-Rasheed, Al-Nafat, the Iraqi army national side and several clubs in Libya and the UAE. He holds a PhD in Sports Pedegogy from Pittsburgh University. Doctor Jamal Salih is one of the most historic coaches in the Iraqi Premier League, due to the three trophies that he collected as a manager in the 80's. Later on, he worked as a pundit for Dubai Sports channel for their Bundesliga matches. 1988–89 Iraqi Pan-National League
The 1988–89 Iraqi Pan-National Clubs First Division was the 15th season of the competition since its foundation in 1974 and the first that was played in a group stage format rather than a round-robin format. The name of the league was changed from ''Iraqi National Clubs First Division'' to ''Iraqi Pan-National Clubs First Division''. Al-Rasheed won the title by defeating Al-Talaba on penalties in the final, to become the first team to win three Premier League titles in a row. During the regional stage, if a match ended in a draw, it would go to extra time and then penalties if necessary. 2018–19 UAE Pro League
The 2018–19 UAE Pro League was the 45th edition with Al Ain being the defending champions after winning their 13th title last year. Both Baniyas and Kalba returned to the pro league after getting relegated back at 2017. After losing Al Shabab and Dubai last season the league has been reduced to 12 teams. This year they needed to get back to 14 teams so they held a relegation play off between bottom two teams of last year and the 3rd and 4th placed teams of the 2nd division. Sharjah set a record of the longest unbeaten run in a UAE Pro League season for 23 games before losing to Al Wasl 3–2.
