''Jamaibabu'' (The Brother-in-Law) is a Bengali language romance drama film directed by Dulal Bhowmik and with music composed by Bappi Lahiri. This film was released in 1996 under the banner of Filmalaya Private Limited. Plot Rama, the daughter of Mr. Chunilal, is studying in a college in Kolkata. She is a girl who does not care about anything. In a college function she quarrels with a boy named Dulal. Rama fabricates a plan to expel Dulal from college, but Dulal saves her from another student Mantu from getting raped. Then Rama thought about her fault and fall in love with Dulal. Shubhendu Chatterjee, M.B.B.S. (29 November 1936 – 5 July 2007) was an Indian physician and actor, who is known for acting in Bengali television and films. A contemporary of actors Uttam Kumar and Soumitra Chatterjee, with whom he played second hero in many films, Dr. Chatterjee with age had graduated into character roles. Chinmoy Roy (1940–2019) was an Indian Bengali male actor. He was famous for his comic roles in Bengali movies, though his versatility has allowed him to play a variety of roles. Though he was known for portraying various character roles, Roy was equally at ease in portraying the famous fictional character Tenida on screen. He held his own among prominent performers like Soumitra Chatterjee, Robi Ghose and Tarun Kumar in the comedies ''Basanto Bilap'', ''Dhonni Meye'', and ''Nanigopaler Biye''.
