Jamaal Jackson
Jamaal J. Jackson (born May 8, 1980) is a former American football center. He played for nine seasons for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL). After playing college football for Delaware State, he was signed by the Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2003. He was the Eagles' starting center from 2005 to 2010. College career After graduating from Miami High School of Miami, Florida in 1998, Jackson played college football at Delaware State. Professional career Philadelphia Eagles After going undrafted in the 2003 NFL Draft, Jackson was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles as a free agent. He spent the 2003 season on the team's practice squad and the 2004 season on the team's injured reserve list after suffering a torn triceps. Center or Centre (C) is a position in gridiron football. The center is the innermost lineman of the offensive line on a football team's offense. The center is also the player who passes (or "snaps") the ball between his legs to the quarterback at the start of each play. The importance of centers for a football team has increased, due to the re-emergence of 3–4 defenses. Physically Unable To Perform
Physically unable to perform (PUP) is a roster designation used in the National Football League (NFL) for players who suffered injuries during football-related activities prior to the start of training camp. Players on the PUP list may participate in team meetings, and use team training and medical facilities, but cannot practice with their team. There are two separate PUP lists: an active PUP list used prior to the start of the regular season, and a reserve PUP list used during the regular season. Active/PUP A player who, as a result of football-related injuries, is unable to take part in training camp practices may be assigned to the active/PUP list at the start of camp. The injured reserve list ( IR list) is a designation used in North American professional sports leagues for athletes who suffer injuries and become unable to play. The exact name of the list varies by league; it is known as "injured reserve" in the National Football League (NFL) and National Hockey League (NHL), the "injured list" in the Canadian Football League (CFL), and the injured list (historically known as the "disabled list") in Major League Baseball (MLB). The National Basketball Association (NBA) does not have a direct analog to an injured reserve list, instead using a more general-purpose "inactive list" that does not require a player to be injured. Injured reserve lists are used because the rules of these leagues allow for only a certain numbers of players on each team's roster. The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is one of a pair of cruciate ligaments (the other being the posterior cruciate ligament) in the human knee. The two ligaments are also called "cruciform" ligaments, as they are arranged in a crossed formation. Nicholas Darnell Cole (born July 28, 1984) is a former American football guard and center. He was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2006. He played college football at New Mexico State. College career Cole played college football at New Mexico State. Professional career Philadelphia Eagles After going undrafted in the 2006 NFL Draft, Cole signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as a free agent. He was named the third-string center behind Jamaal Jackson and Hank Fraley. He was later promoted to second string when Fraley was traded to the Cleveland Browns.
