Jalil Safarov
Jalil Safarov ( az, Cəfərov Cəlil Əziz oğlu) (January 28, 1962, Marneuli Municipality, Georgia – May 15, 1992, Turshsu, Shusha, Azerbaijan) was the National Hero of Azerbaijan, and the warrior of the Karabakh war. Life Jalil Safarov was born on January 28, 1962, in the Lejbaddin village of Marneuli Municipality, Georgia. Then he moved to Sumgayit District of Azerbaijan with his family. He studied the secondary school in Sumgayit in 1969–1977. He was admitted to Jamshid Nakhchivanski Military Lyceum in 1977. After completing his education in 1980, he entered Vladikavkaz Military Racquet & Zenith Command School. He had been working in Priozorsk and Balhash cities of Kazakhstan since 1984 and returned to Azerbaijan eight years later. Marneuli Municipality
Marneuli ( ka, მარნეულის მუნიციპალიტეტი, az, Marneuli Bələdiyyəsi) is a municipality in Georgia, in the region of Kvemo Kartli. Its administrative center and main town is Marneuli. Location Marneuli Municipality is situated in south-east part of country near to border with Azerbaijan and Armenia. The size of the municipality is 935 km2. Most part of its territory is located in Marneuli lowland (between 350 and 600 meters above sea level). The highest point is Garadagh mountain (1416 m.). Shusha District
Shusha District ( az, Şuşa rayonu) is one of the 66 districts of Azerbaijan. It is located in the west of the country and belongs to the Karabakh Economic Region. The district borders the districts of Khojaly, Lachin, and Khojavend. Its capital and largest city is Shusha. As of 2020, the district had a nominal population of 34,700. History The district was formerly part of the Shusha District of the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast (NKAO) of Azerbaijan SSR during the Soviet times. Martyrs' Lane or Alley of Martyrs ( az, Şəhidlər Xiyabanı), formerly known as the Kirov Park, is a cemetery and memorial in Baku, Azerbaijan dedicated to those killed by the Soviet Army during Black January 1990 and in the First Nagorno-Karabakh War of 1988–1994. History In the closing days of World War I, fighting broke out in Baku as a result of the Russian Civil War, with four groups fighting for control of the area when the Russian Empire collapsed.
