Jakob Wilhelm Sprengtporten
Jakob Wilhelm Sprengtporten (9 October 1794 – 29 September 1875) was a Swedish statesman and Lord of the Realm. He served as governor of Stockholm between 1830 and 1838 and as member of the Riksdag of the Estates between 1823 and 1866. Jakob Wilhelm Sprengtporten was born, into the Sprengtporten family, at Sparreholm Castle in Södermanland, Sweden, the son of Johan Vilhelm Sprengtporten and the Countess Sophia Lovisa Mörner af Morlanda. He attended Uppsala University. Governor Of Stockholm
The Governor of Stockholm ( sv, överståthållaren) was the head of the Office of the Governor of Stockholm ( sv, Överståthållarämbetet, ÖÄ), and as such he was the highest Swedish State official overseeing the affairs in the City of Stockholm between 1634 and 1967. The Governor was the equivalent in Stockholm of a county governor elsewhere in Sweden. The Governor was appointed by and reported to the King in Council. The Office of the Governor of Stockholm was instituted by the Instrument of Government of 1634, written by Lord High Chancellor Axel Oxenstierna, which uniformly delineated the civil state administration of Sweden into Counties and the Office of the Governor of Stockholm. Sparreholm Castle
Sparreholm Castle ( sv, Sparreholms slott) is a manor house in Flen Municipality, Södermanland County, Sweden. The estate is located on Lake Båven just outside the community of Sparreholm in Hyltinge parish. History The main house received its current appearance in the 1890s according to drawings by architect Johan August Westerberg (1836-1900). At the manor there is a conference facilities and a café. Sparreholm automobile museum is located in a separate hall building east of the manor. South of the manor in the former carriage house is a large collections of jukeboxes.
