Jakob Blåbjerg
Jakob Blåbjerg Mathiasen (born 11 January 1995) is a Danish former professional footballer who played as a defender. Youth career Blåbjerg joined AaB as a U14 player from Vejgaard BK. Club career AaB In September 2012, Blåbjerg signed his first full-time contract and was to be promoted to the first team squad from the summer 2013. He got his Superliga debut for AaB in February 2013 against Silkeborg IF alongside Kasper Pedersen, as the four regular options for the centre-back position were all out with either injuries or bans. Blåbjerg was promoted to the first team squad in the summer 2013 at the age of 18, but did not play any games the whole season while AaB won the league and the Danish Cup. In the following season Blåbjerg played 7 league matches in the first half year and 11 matches in the second half of the season. The Danish Cup ( da, Landspokalturneringen; often referred to as Pokalen) is the official "knockout" cup competition in Danish football, run by the Danish Football Association. The cup has been contested annually since 1955. The winner will qualify for the UEFA Europa League tournament the following year, where they (as of the 2009–10 season) will enter in the third qualifying round. The latest edition, 2017-18 Danish Cup, was won by Superliga-side Brøndby, beating Superliga-side Silkeborg 3–1 on 10 May 2018 at Parken Stadium, thereby winning their first domestic trophy since 2008. Vendsyssel () is the northernmost traditional district of Denmark and of Jutland. Being divided from mainland Jutland by the Limfjord, it is technically a part of the North Jutlandic Island, but the name often used informally for the entire island. The 2013–14 Danish Cup was the 60th season of the Danish Cup competition. It was the third season since its rebranding as the ''DBU Pokalen'' (The DBU Cup). The winner of the competition qualified for the play-off round of the 2014–15 UEFA Europa League. First round 94 teams were drawn into this round.
