James Jakes
James Jakes (born 4 August 1987 in Leeds, West Yorkshire) is a British racing driver. Career T-Cars Jakes started his racing career in 2002 competing in 5 rounds of the T-Car Championship. In 2003 James continued in T-cars, finishing 2nd in the championship. Formula Renault For the 2004 season, Jakes moved into the British Formula Renault Championship with Team AKA. Jakes progressed his skills as a racing driver to the point where he was regularly contending for race wins, helping him to attain 3rd in the championship in 2005. His two seasons in Formula Renault also helped him to attain a McLaren Autosport BRDC Award Nomination and also receive BRDC Rising Star status. Formula Three Jakes did one round of the 2005 British Formula 3 Championship in the National Class. Jiří Jakeš
Jiří Jakeš (born October 4, 1982) is a Czech former professional ice hockey player. Jakeš began his career as a product of HC Sparta Praha's academy before moving to the junior Canadian Hockey League where he was drafted 14th overall by the Western Hockey League's Brandon Wheat Kings in the 2000 CHL Import Draft. In his first season he played in the CHL Top Prospects Game after scoring 22 goals in 64 games. He would then be drafted by the Boston Bruins, 147th overall, in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft though he never managed to play in the NHL. Jakeš had a short spell in the West Coast Hockey League for the Anchorage Aces in 2002 before returning to the WHL with the Tri-City Americans and the Vancouver Giants. After failing to secure a North American contract, Jakeš returned to the Czech Republic and played fourteen games in the 2003–04 Czech Extraliga season, thirteen with HC Sparta Praha and one with HC Lasselsberger Plzeň. John William Jakes (born March 31, 1932) is an American writer, best known for American historical and speculative fiction. His Civil War trilogy, ''North and South'', has sold millions of copies worldwide. He is also the author of The Kent Family Chronicles. He has used the pen name Jay Scotland. Early life and education Jakes was born in Chicago, Illinois. He first sold stories to pulp magazines while still in college in the early 1950s. Jakes studied creative writing at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, graduating in 1953. He then earned an M.A. in American literature from Ohio State University. He and Rachel, to whom had been married for 13 months at the time, appeared on the game show ''Beat the Clock'' on August 23, 1952. Miloš Jakeš (12 August 1922 – 10 July 2020) was a Czech communist politician. He was General Secretary of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia from 1987 until 1989. He resigned from his position in late November 1989, amid the Velvet Revolution. Early life Jakeš was born in České Chalupy, now part of Nová Ves near České Budějovice. He grew up in a poor village family in the Bohemian Forest borderlands before working in Bata Shoes factory in Zlín between 1937 and 1950. He joined the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia soon after World War II, triggering his steady rise within the party ranks. In 1955 he began his studies at Moscow's Party's Higher College and, after obtaining his degree in 1958, his career continued without interruption, undisturbed even during the 1968 Prague Spring period.
