Jake West (born 1972) is a British film director, known mostly for his horror films and for a series of documentaries looking at film censorship and interviewing well-known directors, actors and industry figures. Biography West's first feature film was ''Razor Blade Smile'', released in 1998. His second film, released in 2005, was ''Evil Aliens'', described as a 'British slapstick horror-comedy', in the tradition of films such as ''Braindead (film), Braindead'', ''House (1986 film), House'', and ''Evil Dead''. It was the first full-length British horror film to be filmed using Sony HD cameras and contains over a hundred digital effect shots as well as many conventional gory special effects. Video nasty is a colloquial term popularised by the National Viewers' and Listeners' Association (NVALA) in the United Kingdom to refer to a number of films, typically low-budget horror or exploitation films, distributed on video cassette that were criticised for their violent content by the press, social commentators and various religious organisations in the early 1980s. These video releases were not brought before the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) due to a loophole in film classification laws that allowed videos to bypass the review process. The resulting uncensored video releases led to public debate concerning the availability of these films to children due to the unregulated nature of the market. ''Doghouse '' is a 2009 British slapstick comedy horror splatter film. A group of male friends travel to a remote town in England for a 'boys' weekend'. Upon their arrival, they find out that all the women in the town have been transformed into ravenous man-eaters; literally. Plot Vince is depressed over his recent divorce. Six of his friends—Neil, Mikey, Graham, Matt, Patrick and Banksy, all of whom have their own women problems—decide to take him on a "boys' weekend".
