Jake Rogers
Jacob Ray Rogers (born April 18, 1995) is an American professional baseball catcher for the Detroit Tigers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2019. Amateur career Rogers attended Canyon High School in Canyon, Texas, and played for the school's baseball team. In 2013, as a senior, he batted .492 with six home runs and 48 runs batted in (RBIs). Undrafted out of high school in the 2013 MLB draft, he enrolled at Tulane University where he played college baseball for the Tulane Green Wave. In 2015, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Hyannis Harbor Hawks of the Cape Cod Baseball League, and was named a league all-star. In 2016, as a junior at Tulane, he hit .261 with seven home runs and 28 RBIs in 61 games. Erie SeaWolves
The Erie SeaWolves are an United States, American professional baseball team based in Erie, Pennsylvania. They compete in Minor League Baseball (MiLB) as a member of the Eastern League (1938–present), Eastern League's Southwest Division, serving as the Double-A (baseball), Double-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. The team was founded in and began playing in Erie for the season. The SeaWolves currently play their home games at UPMC Park in downtown Erie, a part of the Louis J. Tullio Plaza along with Erie Insurance Arena and the Warner Theatre (Erie, Pennsylvania), Warner Theatre. College Baseball
College baseball is baseball that is played on the intercollegiate level at institutions of higher education. In comparison to football and basketball, college competition in the United States plays a smaller role in developing professional players, as baseball's professional minor leagues are more extensive, with a greater history of supplying players to MLB. Moving directly from high school to the professional level is more common in baseball than in football or basketball. However, if players do opt to enroll at a four-year college to play baseball, they must complete three years to regain professional eligibility, unless they reach age 21 before starting their third year of college. Players who enroll at junior colleges (i.e., two-year institutions) regain eligibility after one year at that level. Lakeland Flying Tigers
The Lakeland Flying Tigers are a Minor League Baseball team of the Florida State League and the Single-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. They are located in Lakeland, Florida, and play their home games at Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium. History The team was established in 1960 as the Lakeland Indians, an affiliate of the Cleveland Indians. Justin Verlander
Justin Brooks Verlander ( ; born February 20, 1983) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the New York Mets of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in MLB for the Detroit Tigers and Houston Astros. From Manakin-Sabot, Virginia, Verlander attended Old Dominion University (ODU) and played college baseball for the Monarchs. Dazmon Jaroid Cameron (born January 15, 1997) is an American professional baseball outfielder in the Baltimore Orioles organization. He attended Eagle's Landing Christian Academy in McDonough, Georgia, and was selected by the Houston Astros in the 2015 MLB draft. Franklin Eduardo Pérez Montoya (born December 6, 1997) is a Venezuelan professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. The Quad Cities River Bandits are a Minor League Baseball team of the Midwest League and the High-A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals. Their home games are played at Modern Woodmen Park (formerly John O'Donnell Stadium) in Davenport, Iowa, one of the Quad Cities. The Tri-City ValleyCats (often shortened to Cats) are a professional independent baseball team based in Troy, New York. The Tri-City name refers to the three nearby cities of Albany, Schenectady, and Troy which make up New York State's Capital District.
