Jake Okechukwu Effoduh
Okechukwu Jake Emmanuel Effoduh (born 12 December 1987) is a Nigerian radio personality, human rights activist and lawyer. He anchored the community radio show ''Flava'' on BBC Media Action and is hosting the ''Talk Your Own: Make Naija Better'' programme, the latter of which has broadcast on over a hundred stations and has reached millions of listeners in Nigeria. He has been involved with several human rights organisations and projects, and is working as a research assistant with the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies in Abuja. Early life and education Effoduh was born in Lagos on 12 December 1987. In 1992, his family moved to Abuja where he attended primary school. For secondary school, he attended Federal Government College in Minna, Niger. The ''Iyasile Naa'', also known as ''The legacy'', is a digital painting created by Ade Olufeko, a designer known for his multidisciplinary work on African social economics. The original artwork was created in 2013. It underwent enhancements in Lagos and was reissued in 2017 as a major collaboration project piece through an African conference at Oxford University. According to the ''Vanguard'' news, parts of the artwork were influenced by 1985's ''We Are the World'' music project. Legal experts suggest that the eventual buyer of the artwork's reissue cannot financially exploit the work until the year 2033, stating that all "proceeds at any time from sales will remain within the African economic system." Sickle Cell Anaemia
Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a group of blood disorders typically inherited from a person's parents. The most common type is known as sickle cell anaemia. It results in an abnormality in the oxygen-carrying protein haemoglobin found in red blood cells. This leads to a rigid, sickle-like shape under certain circumstances. Problems in sickle cell disease typically begin around 5 to 6 months of age. A number of health problems may develop, such as attacks of pain (known as a sickle cell crisis), anemia, swelling in the hands and feet, bacterial infections and stroke. Long-term pain may develop as people get older. The average life expectancy in the developed world is 40 to 60 years.
