Jake Diebler
Jacob Michael Diebler (born October 28, 1986) is an American basketball coach and former player. Since 2019, he has served as an assistant coach at Ohio State. He has previously served as an assistant at both Valparaiso and Vanderbilt under his college head coach and current Grand Canyon head coach Bryce Drew. He has also worked under former Ohio State head coach Thad Matta as a video coordinator in between his assistant coaching jobs at Valparaiso and Vanderbilt. He is known for being a good recruiter, being the primary recruiter for 5-star recruit and future Cleveland Cavaliers guard Darius Garland. Ohio State Buckeyes Men's Basketball
The Ohio State Buckeyes men's basketball team represents The Ohio State University in NCAA Division I college basketball competition. The Buckeyes are a member of the Big Ten Conference. 2008 College Basketball Invitational
The 2008 College Basketball Invitational (CBI) was a single-elimination tournament of 16 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I teams that did not participate in the 2008 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament or the 2008 National Invitation Tournament. The inaugural tournament began on March 18 on campus sites and ended on April 4, won by the University of Tulsa, defeating their former Missouri Valley Conference rivals Bradley University in the best-of-three final. Tulsa center Jerome Jordan was the tournament MVP. The CBI was the first newly created post-season tournament since the Collegiate Commissioners Association Tournament in 1974. The 2013 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament was a single-elimination tournament that involved 68 teams playing to determine the national champion of men's NCAA Division I college basketball. 2013 Horizon League Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2013 Horizon League men's basketball tournament began on March 5, 2013, and ended with the championship game on Tuesday, March 12. First round games were played on the home court of the higher-seeded team. The second round and semifinals were hosted by the No. 1 seed Valparaiso, while the highest remaining seed hosted the championship game. All Horizon League schools participated in the tournament. Teams were seeded by their regular season record, with a tiebreaker system to seed teams with identical conference records. The top two teams received a bye (sports), bye to the semifinals. The 2012–13 Valparaiso Crusaders men's basketball team represented Valparaiso University during the 2012–13 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Cruasaders, led by second year head coach Bryce Drew, played their home games at the Athletics–Recreation Center and were members of the Horizon League. National Invitational Tournament
The National Invitational Tournament (NIT) is a men's college basketball tournament operated by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Played at regional sites and traditionally at Madison Square Garden (Final Four) in New York City each March and April, it was founded in 1938 and was originally the most prestigious post-season showcase for college basketball. The 2021 tournament, in which all games were played in Denton and Frisco, Texas, marked the first time that the NIT's semifinals and championship games were not hosted at Madison Square Garden; MSG won't play host to the games entirely starting in 2023. Over time, it became eclipsed by the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, which is now known informally as "March Madness." The 2012 National Invitation Tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 32 NCAA Division I teams that were not selected to participate in the 2012 NCAA tournament. The annual tournament began on March 13 on campus sites and ended on March 29 at Madison Square Garden. Stanford defeated Minnesota in the final game, by a score of 75–51 to become NIT champions for second time (first since 1991). Horizon League
The Horizon League is an 11-school collegiate athletic conference in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I, whose members are located in and near the Great Lakes region. The Horizon League founded in 1979 as the Midwestern City Conference. The conference changed its name to Midwestern Collegiate Conference in 1985 and then the Horizon League in 2001. The conference started with a membership of six teams and has fluctuated in size with 24 different schools as members at different times. The League currently has 11 members. The 2010–11 Iona Gaels men's basketball team represented Iona College during the 2010–11 NCAA Division I men's basketball season.
