Jake Chelios
Jake Chelios (born March 8, 1991), also known as Jieke Kailiaosi, is an American-born professional ice hockey defenseman who is currently playing in China for Kunlun Red Star in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Born in the United States, he represented China at the 2022 Winter Olympics. He previously played with the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career Chelios played with the Detroit Red Wings through to the under-18 level in the T1EHL. He later moved on to play junior hockey with the Chicago Steel in the United States Hockey League (USHL). He committed to play collegiate hockey with Michigan State University in the Big Ten Conference. Charlotte Checkers
The Charlotte Checkers are a minor-league professional ice hockey team based in Charlotte, North Carolina. They are members of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference in the American Hockey League (AHL), and are the top minor league affiliate of the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League (NHL). The 2013–14 AHL season was the 78th season of the American Hockey League. The regular season began on October 4, 2013, and ended on April 19, 2014. The 2014 Calder Cup playoffs followed the conclusion of the regular season. The Calder Cup was won by the Texas Stars for their first Calder Cup in franchise history. Regular season The 2013–14 edition of the AHL Outdoor Classic took place on December 13, 2013 and was hosted by the Rochester Americans against the Lake Erie Monsters at Frontier Field in Rochester, New York. Andrew Conrad Brown (born February 15, 1944) is a Canadians, Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. Career Brown played with the Detroit Red Wings and the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League, the Indianapolis Racers of the World Hockey Association and several teams in the minor leagues. In the 1973–74 NHL season, 1973–74 season, he incurred 60 minutes in penalties, then the NHL record for penalty minutes in a season by a goaltender. He was the last goalie to play without a mask in the NHL, on April 7, 1974, in a 6–3 loss to the Atlanta Flames; he continued to play without a mask throughout his three seasons in the WHA. Adam Brown (ice Hockey)
Adam Brown (February 4, 1920 — August 9, 1960) was a Canadian ice hockey forward. He was born in Johnstone, Scotland, but grew up in Hamilton, Ontario. Career Brown started his National Hockey League career with the Detroit Red Wings in 1941-42. He won the Stanley Cup with the Wings the following year. On October 28, 1945, Brown became the first player in Detroit history to score a hat trick in an opening night home game. His three goals helped Detroit defeat the Boston Bruins 7–0. On October 16, 1946, Brown was in the starting lineup for the Wings along with Sid Abel and 18-year-old rookie Gordie Howe, who was appearing in his first NHL game. In the second period, Abel and Brown assisted on a goal by Howe, Howe's first goal in the NHL. Brown also played with the Chicago Black Hawks and the Boston Bruins. Gerry Abel
Gerald Scott Abel (December 25, 1944 – July 2, 2021) was an American professional ice hockey left winger. He is the son of Hockey Hall of Fame member Sid Abel and the uncle of former goaltender Brent Johnson. He played one game in the National Hockey League during the 1966–67 season, with the Detroit Red Wings on March 8, 1967 against the New York Rangers. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1965 to 1968, was spent in the minor leagues. Playing career Abel played junior hockey for the Hamilton Red Wings signing with the Detroit Red Wings. Sid Abel
Sidney Gerald Abel (February 22, 1918February 8, 2000) was a Canadian Hall of Fame hockey player, coach and general manager in the National Hockey League, most notably for the Detroit Red Wings, and was a member of three Stanley Cup-winning teams in 1943, 1950, and 1952. In 2017 Abel was named one of the '100 Greatest NHL Players' in history. Playing career Born in Melville, Saskatchewan, "Old Bootnose", as he was known, Abel joined the Red Wings in 1938 after playing junior hockey with the Flin Flon Bombers. A two-way contract is a professional sports contract that stipulates that an athlete's salary is dependent upon the league in which the athlete is assigned to play. This is opposed to a one-way contract that would pay the same salary regardless of where the athlete is assigned to play. The Carolina Hurricanes (colloquially known as the Canes) are a professional ice hockey team based in Raleigh, North Carolina.
