Jake Canuso is a Swiss actor, who is known for his role in the ITV (TV channel), ITV comedy series ''Benidorm (British TV series), Benidorm'', in which he played the Solana barman List of Benidorm cast and characters#Past characters, Mateo Castellanos from 2007 until 2018. He also played Tony Peroni in the TV comedy series ''Scarborough'' alongside comedian Jason Manford in 2019. Personal life Canuso was born near Zurich, Switzerland, to immigrants from southern Italy. He moved to the UK when he was 18 years old. Canuso survived the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami, Indian Ocean tsunami on 26 December 2004, whilst on holiday in Ko Phra Thong, Thailand. He climbed a tree after seeing the first waves, and was trapped underwater after the tree snapped. He developed aquaphobia and did not swim in water for several years. It is produced by Italian producer brothers Paolo and Gianni Visnadi with DJ Alex Natale, and was released in February 1995 by UMM and Systematic as the first single from the group's first and only album, ''Alex Party'' (1996). ''Keen Eddie'' is an American action, comedy-drama television series that aired on Fox from June 3 to July 24, 2003. The series was originally scheduled to premiere during the 2002–03 television season, but was postponed and premiered as a summer replacement in June 2003. ''Splash!'' is a British television series that follows celebrities learning diving. The celebrities performed each week in front of a panel of judges and a live audience in an Olympic-size diving pool with the result each week partly determined by public vote. ''Top of the Pops'' (''TOTP'') is a British Record chart, music chart television programme, made by the BBC and originally broadcast weekly between 1January 1964 and 30 July 2006. The programme was the world's longest-running weekly music show. For most of its history, it was broadcast on Thursday evenings on BBC One. Each show consisted of performances of some of the week's best-selling popular music records, usually excluding any tracks moving down the chart, including a rundown of that week's singles chart. "Crickets Sing for Anamaria" is the English-language version of "Os Grilos" ("The Crickets"), a song written by Brazilian musician Marcos Valle with his brother Paulo Sérgio Valle. Original version The instrumental original of "Os Grilos" appeared on Valle's 1967 album ''Brazilliance!'' and became a "breakout hit". The English version, to which producer Ray Gilbert contributed the lyrics, appeared on Valle's 1968 album ''Samba '68'' and on Astrud Gilberto's 1968 album ''Windy (album), Windy''. It has been covered many times since. The Anamaria of the title was Valle's then-wife, who also sang on ''Samba '68''.
