Jake Bornheimer
Jacob "Jake" Bornheimer (June 29, 1927 – September 10, 1986) was an American professional basketball player. Born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, Bornheimer played collegiately for the Muhlenberg College Muhlenberg College is a private liberal arts college in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1848, Muhlenberg College is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and is named for Henry Muhlenberg, the German patriarch of Luthe .... He played for the Philadelphia Warriors (1948–50) in the NBA for 75 games. His older brother, Bill, played basketball at Georgetown, from 1940 to 1942. Historically, these players have been assigned, to positions defined by the role they play on the court, from a strategic point of view. The three main positions are guard, forward, and center, with the standard team featuring two guards, two forwards, and a center. In basketball, an assist is attributed to a player who passes the ball to a teammate in a way that leads directly to a score by field goal, meaning that they were "assisting" in the basket.
