Jake Bidwell
Jake Brian Bidwell (born 21 March 1993) is an English professional footballer who plays as a left back for Coventry City. He began his career in the academy at Premier League side Everton and was capped by England at age-group level. Club career Everton Bidwell grew up in Southport and joined the academy at Premier League side Everton at age 11. For his first two seasons he played as a goalkeeper. Switching to left back, he progressed through the ranks to the club's U18 team, making his debut early in the 2008–09 season. He made 19 Premier Academy League appearances for the U18 team during the 2008–09 season and made his reserve team debut in a 2–0 Premier Reserve League North defeat to Manchester United on 16 April 2009. The Premier Academy League (sometimes abbreviated as FAPAL) was the top level of youth football in England before it was to be replaced by a new league proposed by the Elite Player Performance Plan in 2012, which was accepted by the 72 member clubs of The Football League on 20 October 2011. The 2010–11 Premier Academy League Under–18 season is the fourteenth edition since the establishment of The Premier Academy League, and the seventh under the current make-up. All teams played the other teams in their group twice and play 10 inter-group fixtures, producing 28 games a season. Eight of the inter-group games were played against teams in their 'paired group' (i.e. A–B and C–D are the paired groups), whilst the remaining two games comprise one game against a team in each of the two remaining groups. The team captain of an association football team, sometimes known as the skipper, is a team member chosen to be the on-pitch leader of the team; they are often one of the older or more experienced members of the squad, or a player that can heavily influence a game or has good leadership qualities. 2010–11 Premier Reserve League
The 2010–11 Premier Reserve League (officially known as the 2010–11 Barclays Premier Reserve League for sponsorship reasons) was the twelfth season since the establishment of the Premier Reserve League. The season began on 25 August 2010. and ended on 16 May 2011 with Chelsea's reserves beating Blackburn Rovers Reserves 5–4 in a penalty shoot-out after the final had ended 1–1 after extra time. The events in the senior leagues during the 2009–10 season saw Burnley, Hull City and Portsmouth all relegated and replaced by the promoted teams Newcastle United, West Bromwich Albion and Blackpool. Dead Rubber
Dead rubber is a term used in sporting parlance to describe a match in a series where the series result has already been decided by earlier matches. The dead rubber match therefore has no effect on the winner and loser of the series, other than the total number of matches won and lost. The term is used in Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup tennis, as well as in international cricket, field hockey, the FIFA World Cup, UEFA Champions League, Rugby World Cup and the State of Origin series. For example, in a Davis Cup series, each pair of competing countries play five matches (''rubbers'') where the winner is decided on a best-of-five basis.
