Jajabara
''Rangin Jajabara'' is a 1975 Odia language Indian movie. The music was composed by Akshya Mohanty. It was produced by Bijay Pattnaik, directed by Akshaya Mohanty, Hemanta Das and Bijay Mishra (Trimurty). It stars Sriram Panda, Banaja Mohanty and Tripura Mishra. ''Jajabar'' was the first black-and-white film in Odia to be digitally colourised and re-released in the state. The film's story is based on the nomad lifestyle. The nomad turned into a human being falls in love, fights for love and wins love fighting with many ifs and buts. Synopsis Rashbihari Samantrai is a landlord who has two sons Anu and Arup. Anu is an industrialist and plans to start an industry in "Sundari Tota", a place owned by his father and inhabited by rural folks. Akshaya Mohanty
Akshaya Mohanty, also known as ''Khoka Bhai'', was an Indian singer, lyricist, composer, musician and writer in Odia. He has contributed Odia bhajans, Odissi songs, folk songs, film and non-film modern light songs in Odisha on contemporary themes and ballads based on popular legends in Odisha. Life history Early life Mohanty was born to Bichitrananda Mohanty and Subarna Manjari Mohanty at Cuttack on 12 October 1936. Mohanty had no formal training in music. At the age of 22 in 1956, he joined Government services in his home city Cuttack, but quit after seven years in 1963. He became an approved lyricist in All India Radio, Cuttack in 1956. Career Sriram Panda started his film career in Dhir Biswal's '' Dharitri'' directed by Nitai Palit in 1972, which was a success. In 1975 he starred in the lead role of Jajabara directed by Trimurti which was a huge hit & is still regarded as one of the classic films to be ever made in Odia film industry. A coloured version of Jajabara was later released which garnered high popularity among the masses. In 1976 he starred in 6 films 4 of which were commercially successful. He emerged as Superstar of Odisha in the 1980s and 1990s. Dukhiram Swain
Dukhiram Swain (died 18 January 1995) was an Indian film and television actor. He was one of the most popular villains in Odia cinema and played a variety of roles most notably as the antagonist in many Odia films and various roles in television serials. He was considered to be one amongst the club of natural actors. He was won the National Film Award for Shesha Shrabana (1976), the Orissa State Film Awards, Orissa State Film Award for Best Supporting Actor and several "Best Villain" awards from State Film Awards and the Orissa Sangeet Natak Akademi. Anita Das
Anita Das (1 October 1953 – 11 May 2018) was an Indian film and television actress in Odia cinema. She received three Odisha State Film Awards during her career. Das died of cardiac arrest which resulted from a heart attack on 11 May 2018 at the age of 64. Career Anita Das made her acting debut in 1975, in the Odia film, ''Jajabara'' where she played the lead role. She predominantly appeared in more than a hundred movies since then, mostly in supporting roles as a mother. She was quite popular for essaying the role of mother in most of her films after the 1980s. Das received the Odisha State Film Award (Best Actress) for her acting in the film, ''Tapasya'' in 1980 and also received the prestigious award again for her lead role in the 1983 film, ''Bhakta Salabeg''.
