Drum and bass (also written as drum & bass or drum'n'bass and commonly abbreviated as D&B, DnB, or D'n'B) is a genre of electronic dance music characterized by fast breakbeats (typically 165–185 beats per minute) with heavy bass and sub-bass lines, samples, and synthesizers. The genre grew out of the UK's rave scene in the 1990s. The popularity of drum and bass at its commercial peak ran parallel to several other UK dance styles. A major influence was the original Jamaican dub and reggae sound that influenced jungle's bass-heavy sound. Another feature of the style is the complex syncopation of the drum tracks' breakbeat. Drum and bass subgenres include breakcore, ragga jungle, hardstep, darkstep, techstep, neurofunk, ambient drum and bass, liquid funk (a.k.a. liquid drum and bass), jump up, drumfunk, sambass, and drill 'n' bass. "Baby Boy" is a single released in 2003 by British hip hop- R&B group Big Brovaz. The single is the fourth single taken from Big Brovaz' 2002 debut album, '' Nu-Flow''. "Baby Boy" became Big Brovaz' fourth UK top-10 hit, peaking at number four and spending three months on the UK Singles Chart. The song was also their third top-10 hit on the Australian Singles Chart, peaking at number eight and receiving a platinum certification from the Australian Recording Industry Association. The Dutch Top 40 ( nl, Nederlandse Top 40) is a weekly music chart compiled by ''Stichting Nederlandse Top 40''. It started as a radio program titled "Veronica Top 40", on the offshore station Radio Veronica in 1965. It remained "The Veronica Top 40" until 1974, when the station was forced to stop broadcasting. The Official Albums Chart is a list of albums ranked by physical and digital sales and (from March 2015) audio streaming in the United Kingdom. It was published for the first time on 22 July 1956 and is compiled every week by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on Fridays (previously Sundays). It is broadcast on BBC Radio 1 (top 5) and found on the OCC website as a Top 100 or on UKChartsPlus as a Top 200, with positions continuing until all sales have been tracked in data only available to industry insiders. However, even though number 100 was classed as a hit album (as in the case of The Guinness Book of British Hit Albums) in the 1980s until January 1989, since the compilations were removed this definition was changed to Top 75 with follow-up books such as The Virgin Book of British Hit Albums book only including this data. ''Tower Block Dreams'' was a British documentary series that broadcast on BBC Three during January 2004, investigating the underground music scene on council estates in London and Southend in the United Kingdom. A total of three 1 hour episodes were produced and broadcast at a 9pm timeslot. ''Tower Block Dreams'' looked at modern inner city life, through the stories of young musicians trying to make a career in music. The series showed that the underground music scene is fuelled by pirate radio stations and rappers' ambitions to become successful in the future. The series was shot on council estates in Tottenham, Finsbury Park, Bow and Archway in London and Southend-On-Sea in Essex. BBC Three is a British free-to-air public broadcast television channel owned and operated by the BBC.
