Jaime Trobo
Jaime Trobo (5 October 1956 – 24 July 2019) was an Uruguayan politician who served as a Deputy and as Minister of Sports and Youth pertaining to the National Party. Biography He began military in White Youth in 1975, in opposition to the dictatorship. In 1982 he was elected conventional in the Herrerist sector along with who years later would become President of the Republic, Luis Alberto Lacalle. In 1984 he was elected departmental mayor for Montevideo, a position he held between 1985 and 1989 when he was elected National Deputy for Montevideo on the list of Héctor Martín Sturla. He was reelected deputy in the elections of 1994, 1999, 2004, 2009 and 2014. In 1998 he chaired the Chamber of Deputies. Between 2000 and 2002 he served as Minister of Sports and Youth in the government of Jorge Batlle. In 2008 he chaired the International Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives. Jorge Batlle
Jorge Luis Batlle Ibáñez (; ''Batlle'' locally or ; 25 October 1927 – 24 October 2016) was a Uruguayan politician and lawyer, and a member of the Colorado Party. He served as the President of Uruguay from 2000 to 2005. Dr. Jorge Batlle became Uruguayan president on 1 March 2000, after having been elected the previous year by popular vote. He was the fourth Uruguayan President belonging to the Batlle family, one of whom was his own father, Luis Batlle Berres. A name that is closely related to the political history of the country, Batlle began his political career in the 1950s and had served as member of the Uruguayan Congress for the Colorado Party, to which many members of his own family – which came to the River Plate from the Catalan coast at Sitges, Spain, 200 years ago – had belonged before him. Cancer
Cancer is a group of diseases involving abnormal cell growth with the potential to invade or spread to other parts of the body. These contrast with benign tumors, which do not spread. Possible signs and symptoms include a lump, abnormal bleeding, prolonged cough, unexplained weight loss, and a change in bowel movements. While these symptoms may indicate cancer, they can also have other causes. Over 100 types of cancers affect humans. Tobacco use is the cause of about 22% of cancer deaths. Luis Alberto Aparicio Alejandro Lacalle Pou (; ''Luis Lacalle'' locally or ; born 10 August 1973) is a Uruguayan politician and lawyer serving as President of Uruguay since 1 March 2020. Héctor Martín Sturla
Héctor Martín Sturla Berhouet (Montevideo, 13 July 1953 - 22 April 1991) was a Uruguayan lawyer and politician. A man of the National Party, he supported Luis Alberto Lacalle and Jorge Machiñena, and he was elected to Parliament in November 1984. In the following election, with Lacalle elected President of the Republic, Sturla was appointed President of the Chamber of Deputies of Uruguay in 1990. He died in 1991. The Chamber of Representatives ( es, Cámara de Representantes) is the lower house of the General Assembly of Uruguay (''Asamblea General de Uruguay''). The Chamber has 99 members, elected for a five-year term by proportional representation with at least two members per department. The composition and powers of the Chamber of Representatives are established by Article Ninety of the Uruguayan Constitution. It also requires that members must be aged at least 25 and have been a citizen of Uruguay for five years.
