Jaime Fletcher
Jaime "Mujahid" Fletcher is a filmmaker and member of National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP). He is the owner and CEO of an advertising agency, FocusPoint Studios. Fletcher was former Catholic Christian. He studied Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism and Islam. He converted to Islam at a Muslim convention in Florida. He is a youth advocate and founder of the Andalucia Media Arts Center. As a public speaker, he has covered topics about Latinos, youth, Islam, film and media at many institutions. National Association Of Latino Independent Producers
The National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP) is a non-profit advocacy organization that promotes the visibility of Latine/x creators and producers in various media and their projects. The organization was formed in 1999 in New York, and is now headquartered in Los Angeles, CA. History NALIP was formed in 1999 by a group of activists and academics in New York. The founding members later moved the organization to Los Angeles to be closer to Latino groups and Hollywood executives. NALIP's early mission was to lobby Hollywood executives to advocate for increased representation of Latino creators and producers. In 2021, NALIP organized a theater buyout in an attempt to boost the success of the theatrical release of Lin-Manuel Miranda musical film, '' In The Heights''. IslamInSpanish
IslamInSpanish is an educational, non-profit organization that seeks to educate Latinos about Islam in the Spanish language worldwide through audiovisual media (DVDs, TV, audio CDs, radio and interactive website). It distributes materials within the United States and to Spanish-speaking countries. It was established in Houston, Texas. In 2013 IslamInSpanish began providing khutbahs (sermons) in Spanish at two locations in the Houston area. The weekly sessions are broadcast online to the worldwide Spanish-speaking Muslim population. In 2016, IslamInSpanish opened up the first Spanish-speaking mosque in Houston.- IslamInSpanish, in cooperation with the Texas Dawah Convention, organized the first National Latino Muslim Convention in December 2016.
