''Jailbreakers'' is a 1994 television film directed by William Friedkin. Filming took place in Southern California and it was released on September 9, 1994. The film originally aired on Showtime as part of their ''Rebel Highway'' series that took the titles of 1950s-era B-movies and applied them to original films. The film was later released on VHS. Plot The film takes place in the 1950s. Angel is a 15-year-old cheerleader who has her life all ahead of her. She falls in love with Tony Falcon, a drug dealing high school drop-out. A nighttime outing leads to trouble and Angel and Tony are caught. Although Tony is the only one who is sent to jail, Angel has it very hard as well. She is estranged from her parents and her friends refuse ever to talk to her. The family think it is for the best for them to move to new surroundings. Angel and her family move to a nice and quiet suburbia. She starts an entire new life and even falls in love with a new boy. However, she is soon in trouble w ... Kerri Randles
Kerri Lee Randles (born June 15, 1971) is an American actress, writer and producer. Biography Early life Randles was born in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Virginia, a secretary, and Terry, a business owner. She attended the University of Illinois at Chicago with an art scholarship but soon switched her major to Theatre. She studied theatre at Victory Gardens with Steven Ivcich and was part of improv with Mick Napier at the Annoyance Theater. She worked on John Hughes' films, ''Home Alone'' and ''Curly Sue'' as an extra, before earning a chance to audition in Hollywood for '' Roseanne''. Louis S. Arkoff is an American film producer; he is the son of executive producer Samuel Z. Arkoff. Arkoff studied cinema at University of Souther California and law at Loyola University. In 1973 he joined AIP as a legal administrator. He worked his way up to be an executive and vice president of the company. ''Rebel Highway'' was a short-lived revival of American International Pictures created and produced by Lou Arkoff, the son of Samuel Z. Arkoff, and Debra Hill for the Showtime network in 1994. The concept was a 10-week series of 1950s "drive-in classic" B-movies remade "with a '90s edge". The impetus for the series, according to Arkoff was, "what it would be like if you made ''Rebel Without a Cause'' today. It would be more lurid, sexier, and much more dangerous, and you definitely would have had Natalie Wood's top off". Originally, Arkoff wanted to call the series, ''Raging Hormones'' but Showtime decided on ''Rebel Highway'' instead. Arkoff and Hill invited several directors to pick a title from one of Samuel Arkoff's films, hire their own writers and create a story that could resemble the original if they wanted.
