Jai Bolo Telangana (2011 Film)
''Jai Bolo Telangana'' ( ''Hail Telangana!'') is a 2011 Telugu-language historical drama film based on the Telangana Movement, produced & directed by N.Shankar on Mahalakshmi Arts banner. Starring Jagapathi Babu, Smriti Irani, Meera Nandan, Sandeep Singh and music composed by Chakri. Cinematography by T. Surendra Reddy. Beginning with the 1948 movement against the annexing of the Seemandhra region with Hyderabad into a state of Andhra Pradesh, and the circumstances that arose since then, the movie covered the significant events until the tumultuous days at Osmania University in 2009. With the police beating up many peaceful Telangana agitators and Telangana people committing suicide for the formation of a separate Telangana state- all real-life incidents. It also shows how politicians from the Seemandhra region have manipulated and bribed the media often. Goreti Venkanna
Goreti Venkataiah (born 4 April 1965), better known as Goreti Venkanna, is an Indian poet and singer known for his works in Telugu literature. He became popular after his song "Palle Kanneru Peduthundo" in the film ''Kubusam.'' He also acted as a judge for the folk song program ''Rela Re Rela'' on Star Maa. Pawni Pandey is an Indian singer who was a contestant on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs and advanced to fifth place with public votes. She made her debut in the singing reality show Indian Idol. Arunodaya Vimala (born 1964), popularly known as Vimalakka ( te, విమలక్క), is a Telugu balladeer and social activist. Her folk troupe is known as Arunodaya Samskritika Samakhya (ACF). Gummadi Vittal Rao (born 1949), popularly known as Gaddar, is an Indian poet, revolutionary balladeer, activist and a former naxalite. Gaddar was active in the Naxalite movement till 2010, and later joined the movement for Telangana's statehood.
