Marie Jahoda
Marie Jahoda (26 January 1907 – 28 April 2001) was an Austrian-British social psychologist. Biography Jahoda was born in Vienna to a Jewish merchant's family, and like many other psychologists of her time, grew up in Austria where political oppression against socialists was rampant henceforward Engelbert Dollfuss claimed power. Starting in her adolescent years she became engaged in the Austrian Social Democratic Party in ″Red Vienna.″ This was a major influence on her life. She is (among many others) considered as Grande Dame of European socialism. In 1928, she earned her teaching diploma from the Pedagogical Academy of Vienna, and in 1933 earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology from the University of Vienna. Gustav Jahoda
Gustav Jahoda, FBA, FRSE (11 October 1920 – 12 December 2016) was an Austrian psychologist and writer. He was educated in Vienna, then subsequently in Paris and London. He studied sociology and psychology at London University before obtaining a lectureship in social psychology at the University of Manchester. In 1952 he took up a post at the University College of the Gold Coast (now Ghana) in the Department of Sociology, where he carried out pioneering research into cross-cultural psychology. In 1963, Gustav Jahoda was invited to set up a new psychology department in the University of Strathclyde, although he continued to make field trips to West Africa. He retired in 1985. He published works on cross-cultural psychology, socio-cognitive development and history of the social sciences. He also published more than 200 articles. Gloria Jahoda
Gloria Jahoda (October 6, 1926 – January 13, 1980) was an American author of fiction and non-fiction, including literature for young readers. She is best known for her book about the Hillsborough River, '' River of the Golden Ibis'' and her collection of essays ''The Other Florida'' about parts of north-central Florida that had largely been neglected up until the 1960s, or at least not written about by historians. Her essays include a description of Dr. John Gorrie's quest to make ice in the Florida Panhandle, the story of Natural Bridge where the Confederate Army had their final victory, the inspiration composer Frederick Delius received from Black native music in Florida as well as various local fishermen, turpentine tappers, preachers, and other characters who lived in the rural area. Roman Jahoda (born 24 July 1976 in Brno, Czech Republic) is an Austrian judoka, a professional physical therapist and personal trainer, and the CEO of ComplexCore. Personal life Jahoda was raised in Czechoslovakia for 10 years before moving to Austria. His father, a member of the Czech Judo national team, was an engineer and taught mathematics and sports at university. His mother was a member of the Czech skiing national team and was an architect. From a very young age, Jahoda participated in hockey (age 4 to 10), swimming (age 6 to 14), and judo (from age 4). He also took part in various one-year experiences, training camps and courses in figure skating, tennis, gymnastics, soccer and sailing. Myroslav Yahoda, sometime transliterated as Yagoda ( uk, Мирослав Якович Я́года; 23 August 1957 – 11 March 2018) was a Ukrainian painter, graphic artist, poet, novelist, playwright and set designer. The "Ukrainian Goya" – with true integrity in his diverse art – was a prominent figure in the Ukrainian underground art scene. Biography Born to a peasant family, he graduated from school in the village of Girnyk in the Lviv Oblast.
