Jaguars Radio Network
The Jacksonville Jaguars Radio Network is an American radio network composed of 21 radio stations which carry English-language coverage of the Jacksonville Jaguars, a professional football team in the National Football League (NFL). An additional station also carries Spanish-language coverage of the team. Since 2014, Jacksonville market stations WJXL (), WJXL-FM (), and WGNE-FM () have served as the network's three flagships. The network also includes 18 affiliates in the U.S. states of Florida, Georgia and South Carolina: seven AM stations, six of which supplement their signals with a low-power FM translator; ten full-power FM stations; and one HD Radio subchannel which supplements its signal with a low-power FM translator. Radio Network
There are two types of radio network currently in use around the world: the one-to-many (simplex communication) broadcast network commonly used for public information and mass-media entertainment, and the two-way radio ( duplex communication) type used more commonly for public safety and public services such as police, fire, taxicabs, and delivery services. Flagship (broadcasting)
In broadcasting, a flagship (also known as a flagship station or key station) is the broadcast station which originates a television network, or a particular radio or television program that plays a key role in the branding of and consumer loyalty to a network or station. This includes both direct network feeds and broadcast syndication, but generally not backhauls. Not all networks or shows have a flagship station, as some originate from a dedicated radio or television studio. The term derives from the naval custom where the commanding officer of a group of naval ships would fly a distinguishing flag. Satellite radio is defined by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU)'s ITU Radio Regulations (RR) as a ''broadcasting-satellite service''. WFXJ (AM)
WFXJ (930 kHz "Acción 97.3") is a commercial AM radio station in Jacksonville, Florida. It airs a Spanish news/talk radio format and is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. WFXJ is also streamed on accionjacksonville.iheart.com and on the iHeartRadio app. The station's studios and offices are located on Central Parkway in Jacksonville's Southside neighborhood. The transmitter is off Hyde Grove Avenue on Jacksonsonville's Westside. WFXJ transmits with 5,000 watts around the clock. By day it uses a non-directional antenna, but at night, to protect other stations on AM 930, it switches to a directional signal aimed toward the east. Tony Boselli
Don Bosco Anthony Boselli Jr. (born April 17, 1972) is an American former football tackle who played in the National Football League (NFL) for seven seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He played college football at USC, where he received three first-team All-American selections. Boselli was the first player drafted by the Jaguars, who selected him second overall in the 1995 NFL Draft. During his tenure in Jacksonville, Boselli established himself as one of the franchise's most productive and popular players. He was named to five Pro Bowls and three first-team All-Pros while appearing in two AFC Championship Games. In 2002, he was the first selection in the Houston Texans' expansion draft, but retired without playing for them due to injuries. Jeffrey David Lageman (born July 18, 1967) is a former American football player and current sports commentator. He played college football at the University of Virginia and was signed as a defensive end by the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL) in the first round of the 1989 NFL Draft. In 1994, he was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars; he retired after an injury in 1998. Though considered small for a defensive lineman, he distinguished himself on the field, recording a total of 47 career quarterback sacks.
