Mr. Jagdish R. Capoor is a former Deputy Governor of Reserve Bank of India. He is also the Chairman of Manappuram Finance Limited. Reserve Bank of India. Early life and education Mr. Jagdish Capoor holds a master's degree in commerce from the University of Agra. He is also a Fellow of the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance. Career in RBI Capoor retired from RBI on 30 June 2001. After retirement, he joined HDFC Bank as the chairman. Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (DICGC) is a specialised division of Reserve Bank of India which is under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Finance, Government of India. It was established on 15 July 1978 under the Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation Act, 1961 for the purpose of providing insurance of deposits and guaranteeing of credit facilities. DICGC insures all bank deposits, such as saving, fixed, current, recurring deposit for up to the limit of Rs. 500,000 of each depositor in a bank.The limit was increased from 1 lakh to 5 lakh on 4th February 2020.
