Jaganmohini (1978 Film)
''Jaganmohini'' () is a 1978 Telugu-language drama film produced and directed by B. Vittalacharya. The movie was a remake of the 1951 Kannada movie '' Jaganmohini''. The film stars Narasimha Raju, Prabha and Jayamalini. The film was dubbed in Tamil. ''Jaganmohini'' became a major hit and even performed better than the films of big stars. The movie had the best visual effects according to Indian standards at that time. This is the story of woman betrayed by a king, who reappears in her next life as a ghost intent on possessing him. On the advice of a priest, the king marries a pious woman who matches her devotional prowess against the ghost's seductions and wins. Plot Raja ( Narasimha Raju) was a king in his previous life. Jayamalini (or Jaya Malini) is an Indian actress who has acted in more than 500 Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi movies. Career She was introduced to Tollywood in 1975 by Vittalacharya in the movie he produced, ''Aadadani Adrustam''. She acted in several Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam movies. She learned dancing from Heeralal master. She had a very big hit in the 1978 Telugu remake ''Jaganmohini''. Savitri Ganesan (born Nissankara Savitri; 6 December 1935 – 26 December 1981) was an Indian actress, playback singer, dancer, director, and producer known for her works primarily in Telugu and Tamil cinema. She had also worked in Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam films. She starred in more than 250 films over three decades. Mukkamala Krishna Murthy (1920–1987), known mononymously by his surname as Mukkamala (Telugu: ముక్కామల), was a lawyer turned actor who was active in Telugu films in the 1950s and the 1960s. He was a stage actor in his student days and was popular in the role of French General Bussy in ''Bobbili Yuddham'', a stage play based on the historical Battle of Bobbili (Bobbili Yuddham).
