Jadunath Majumdar
Jadunath Majumdar, Rai Bahadur (October 1859–23 October 1932) was an Indian journalist and writer. He was the editor of the Tribune in Lahore, United India, and the ''Hindu Patrika'' of Jessore. Majumdar was the founder of the journal, ''Sanmilani'', in Jessore. Jessore ( bn, যশোর, jôshor, ), officially Jashore, is a city of Jessore District situated in Khulna Division. It is situated in the south-western part of Bangladesh. It is the administrative centre (headquarter) of the eponymous district and the third largest and second developed city in Khulna Division. The Bengal Legislative Council ( was the legislative council of British Bengal (now Bangladesh and the Indian state of West Bengal). It was the legislature of the Bengal Presidency during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. After reforms were adopted in 1937, it served as the upper chamber of the Bengali legislature until the partition of India. History The council was established under the Indian Councils Act 1861.
