Jada Ferguson
Jada Ferguson (born 8 July 2002) is an Australian rugby league footballer who plays as a or for the Brisbane Broncos in the NRL Women's Premiership and Tweed Heads Seagulls in the QRL Women's Premiership. Background Born in Toowoomba, Queensland, Ferguson began playing rugby league at age 11 but was forced to stop due to age restrictions, instead switching to touch football and rugby sevens. She is cousins with Brisbane Broncos teammate Shenae Ciesiolka. Playing career In 2021, Ferguson joined the Tweed Heads Seagulls in the QRL Women's Premiership. In June 2021, she played five-eighth for Queensland Under-19 in their loss to New South Wales Under-19 at Sunshine Coast Stadium. In December 2021, Ferguson signed with the Brisbane Broncos for the rescheduled 2021 NRL Women's Premiership season. Toowoomba ( , nicknamed 'The Garden City' and 'T-Bar') is a city in the Toowoomba Region of the Darling Downs, Queensland, Australia. It is west of Queensland's capital city Brisbane by road. Shenae Ciesiolka (born 7 August 1997) is an Australian rugby league footballer who plays as a er for the Brisbane Broncos in the NRL Women's Premiership and Valleys Diehards in the QRL Women's Premiership. Prior to switching to rugby league, she represented the Australia rugby sevens team. Background Ciesiolka was born in Toowoomba, Queensland and played rugby league, rugby union and touch football growing up. In 2013, she represented the Australian under-18 touch team against New Zealand. Playing career Rugby sevens In 2014, Ciesiolka represented Australia in rugby sevens at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics, winning a gold medal. The Sydney Roosters are an Australian professional Rugby league, Rugby League Football Club based in the Eastern Suburbs (Sydney) and parts of inner Sydney. The club competes in the National Rugby League (NRL) competition. The Roosters have won fifteen New South Wales Rugby League premiership, New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) and National Rugby League titles, and several other competitions. First founded as the Eastern Suburbs District Rugby League Football Club (ESDRLFC), it is the only club to have played in each and every season at the elite level, and since the 1970s has often been dubbed the glamour club of the league. 2021 NRL Women's Season
The 2021 NRLW premiership was the fourth professional season of Women's rugby league in Australia. The season was planned to start in August 2021, postponed to October 2021 and further postponed to 2022 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The competition was held from February to April 2022, with the 2022 NRL Women's season later commencing in August 2022. Teams For the first time there will be three new teams in the competition: the Parramatta Eels, Gold Coast Titans and Newcastle Knights will all join the competition, while the New Zealand Warriors will be in recess for this season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Sunshine Coast Stadium
Sunshine Coast Stadium is a multi-sport venue located at Kawana Waters on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. The stadium is the main venue in a sporting precinct that also includes seven fields. Development Sunshine Coast Stadium was first expanded in 2007, at which time it became sponsored as Stockland Park. At the time, there were plans for the construction of a $22 million, 3,700 seat grandstand which would have allowed for the playing of both rectangular and oval based sports. However, following the withdrawal of State Government funds, the project was cancelled and plans were drawn up for a more modest stadium to be built on the site. Following the cancellation of the earlier plan, a design was drawn up for the construction of a small grandstand on the western side of the main field.
