Jacqueline Coats
Jacqueline Coats is a theatre director based in New Zealand who has worked in both opera and children's theatre, she has worked for various organisations including the New Zealand Festival, New Zealand Opera and Victorian Opera (Melbourne). Biography Coats is educated from the University of Idaho, and in 2002 graduated with a Master of Theatre Arts in Directing from Victoria University of Wellington and Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School. She also has a postgraduate diploma in Arts Education Management from the University of Leeds. She was a singer in the New Zealand Youth Choir, and has been an actor and a singer. She has been directing NZ Opera's touring ''Opera in Schools'' programme since 2015. Children's theatre companies she has worked for include ''Little Dog Barking'', the theatre company of the Peter Wilson (who died in 2021), and Capital E National Theatre for Children. New Zealand Festival Of The Arts
Aotearoa New Zealand Festival is a multi-arts biennial festival based in Wellington New Zealand that started in 1986. Previous names are the New Zealand International Festival of the Arts, New Zealand International Arts Festival, New Zealand Arts Festival and New Zealand Festival of the Arts. The festival is produced every two years and runs across three weeks in venues in Wellington City and outreach programmes in the region. The festival features both international and national acts from performing arts and music with a literary program also. Martin Sherman
Martin Gerald Sherman (born December 22, 1938) is an American dramatist and screenwriter best known for his 20 stage plays which have been produced in over 60 countries. He rose to fame in 1979 with the production of his play '' Bent'', which explores the persecution of homosexuals during the Holocaust. ''Bent'' was a Tony nominee for Best Play in 1980 and won the Dramatists Guild's Hull-Warriner Award. It was adapted by Sherman for a major motion picture in 1997 and later by independent sources as a ballet in Brazil. Sherman is an openly gay Jew, and many of his works dramatize "outsiders," dealing with the discrimination and marginalization of minorities whether "gay, female, foreign, disabled, different in religion, class or color." Voices New Zealand Chamber Choir
Voices New Zealand Chamber Choir was formed in 1998. It is a semi-professional mixed chamber choir consisting of a core of 16 to 24 members with additional singers who can be engaged should they be required for specific repertoire. It is governed by the Choirs Aotearoa New Zealand Trust (which also governs the New Zealand Youth Choir and NZYC Alumni Choir) and the Chief Executive of the Trust is Roger Lloyd, who has held this position since late 2010. It has performed extensively throughout New Zealand, and has also attended a number of international festivals and competitions. It has been conducted since its formation by Dr Karen Grylls, an associate professor at the University of Auckland. ''Noye's Fludde'' is a one-act opera by the British composer Benjamin Britten, intended primarily for amateur performers, particularly children. First performed on 18 June 1958 at that year's Aldeburgh Festival, it is based on the 15th-century Chester "mystery" or "miracle" play which recounts the Old Testament story of Noah's Ark.
