Jacopo Sandron
Jacopo Sandron (born 1 May 1998) is an Italian Greco-Roman wrestler. He is a bronze medalist at the European Wrestling Championships. Career At the 2018 European Wrestling Championships held in Kaspiysk, Russia, Sandron won one of the bronze medals in the 60kg event. In 2019, Sandron represented Italy at the European Games in the 60kg event without winning a medal. He was eliminated in his first match by Dato Chkhartishvili of Georgia. In March 2021, he competed at the European Qualification Tournament in Budapest, Hungary hoping to qualify for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. Amateur wrestling is a variant of wrestling practiced in collegiate, school, or other amateur level competitions. There are two international wrestling styles performed in the Olympic Games: freestyle and Greco-Roman. Both styles are under the supervision of the United World Wrestling (UWW; formerly known as FILA, from the French acronym for International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles). The 2021 European Wrestling Olympic Qualification Tournament is the second regional qualifying tournament for the 2020 Summer Olympics. The event was held from 18 to 21 March 2021, in BOK Sports Hall, Budapest, Hungary. Qualification summary A total of 36 athletes secured a spot in the 2020 Summer Olympics, in Tokyo, Japan. Two spots were given to each of the weight classes in every event. This allows a total of 12 available spots for each event.
