He is married to Sólfríð Vestergaard, together they have four children. Tvøroyri
Tvøroyri is a village on the north side of the Trongisvágsfjørður on the east coast of Suðuroy island in the Faroe Islands. Together with Froðba, Trongisvágur, Líðin and Øravík it forms Tvøroyri Municipality. The village is considered to have been founded in 1836, when the Royal Danish Monopoly Trade Store was founded on a small tongue of land, called Tvøroyri. In a short span of years, Tvøroyri grew into a large village, mainly after 1856 when the monopoly state of the store was abolished. Around the turn of the 20th century, Tvøroyri was one of the largest towns on the Faroe Islands and had one of the main fishing industries. The Faroese People's Party – Radical Self-Government ( fo, Hin føroyski fólkaflokkurin – radikalt sjálvstýri) is a pro- Faroese independence conservative and conservative-liberal political party on the Faroe Islands led by Beinir Johannesen. One of the four major parties, it has had eight seats in the Løgting since the 2019 election, making it the joint-largest party, but it has neither of the Faroes' seats in the Folketing. Founded in 1939 as a split from the Self-Government Party and by former members of the Business Party (Vinnuflokkurin), the party has traditionally supported greater autonomy for the Faroe Islands. Løgting
The Løgting (pronounced ; da, Lagtinget) is the unicameral parliament of the Faroe Islands, an autonomous territory within the Danish Realm. The name literally means "''Law Thing''"—that is, a law assembly—and derives from Old Norse ''lǫgþing'', which was a name given to ancient assemblies. A ''ting'' or ''þing'' has existed on the Faroe Islands for over a millennium and the Løgting was the highest authority on the islands in the Viking era. From 1274 to 1816 it functioned primarily as a judicial body, whereas the modern Løgting established in 1852 is a parliamentary assembly, which gained legislative power when home rule was introduced in 1948. Jákup Mikkelsen (politician)
Jákup Nolsøe Mikkelsen (born 14 August 1970) is a Faroese former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He made 522 league appearances in representing six clubs in a career spanning 25 years, also representing his country at international level. A regular member of the Faroe Islands national team between 1995 and 2013, Mikkelsen won 73 caps, and in playing against Iceland on 16 August 2012 aged 42 years and one day, became the oldest goalkeeper ever to play an international match, the record that has since been surpassed by Colombian Faryd Mondragon. Mikkelsen is a schoolteacher and goalkeeping coach for the Faroe Islands national team. He also sat in the city council of this native town of Klaksvík for one election period.
