Jackson Vroman
Jackson Brett Vroman (June 6, 1981 – June 29, 2015) was an American-born Lebanese professional basketball player. He was naturalized as a Lebanese citizen to play for the Lebanon national basketball team, replacing the other naturalized American Lebanese player, Joe Vogel. He is the son of former NBA player Brett Vroman, who played briefly for the Utah Jazz in the 1980–81 NBA season. Early life and education His senior year in high school, he played at Viewmont High School in Bountiful, Utah for coach Emery. He later attended and played basketball at Snow College in Ephraim, Utah and Iowa State University. During his time at Iowa State, Vroman was a subject of an NCAA rule violation when it was revealed that his former head coach Larry Eustachy paid players, including Vroman, for making free throws during practice and games during the 2002–03 season. Brett Vroman
Brett Grant Vroman (born December 25, 1955) is an American former professional basketball player. A 7'0" 220 lb center, he played college basketball at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). His professional career included a brief stint with the NBA's Utah Jazz and 12 years playing in Europe. Vroman was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers with the 21st pick in the fourth round of the 1978 NBA draft but never made the team. On July 27, 1980 he signed as a free agent with the Utah Jazz for whom he played 11 games in 1980-81, averaging 3.1 points, 2.3 rebounds and 0.8 assist per game. Joe Vogel
Joseph Vogel (; born September 15, 1973) is an American-Lebanese basketball player. Vogel attended Colorado State. Upon graduation, he was drafted by the Seattle SuperSonics in the 1996 He played as a professional in Taiwan, Turkey, Japan, Saudi Arabia and on a number of Lebanese basketball teams, including Sagesse Beirut, Champville SC and Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut. After his naturalization as a Lebanese citizen, he also became a member of the Lebanese national basketball team. At 6'11", he was Lebanon's starting center. The American-Lebanese basketball player currently plays for Hoops Club as a center. Draft Vogel was drafted with the 45th overall pick by the Seattle SuperSonics in the 1996 NBA Draft. Lebanon Men's National Basketball Team
The Lebanon men's national basketball team (; french: Équipe du Liban de basket-ball), controlled by the Lebanese Basketball Federation (FLB), has represented Lebanon in basketball since its inception in 1947. The squad is governed by FIBA, and is part of the FIBA Asia zone. Lebanon is considered one of the top teams in Asia, finishing runners-up in the FIBA Asia Cup four times (in 2001, 2005, 2007 and 2022). The team has also participated in the FIBA World Championship three times ( 2002, 2006 and 2010), failing to qualify past the preliminary round on all three occasions. In 2013, Lebanon was banned by FIBA in all sanctioned events after political interventions in Lebanese basketball. The Capitanes de Arecibo are a Puerto Rican professional basketball team based in Arecibo that competes in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) league.
