Jackson Robert Cartwright
Jackson Robert Cartwright (1870/1871 – December 7, 1957) was an American politician and Baptist preacher from Oklahoma. He served in the Oklahoma House of Representatives between 1929 and 1932. He was the father of Wilburn Cartwright. Career and family Jackson Robert Cartwright moved to Wapanucka, Oklahoma in 1903, where he was a Baptist preacher for over 50 years. He served two terms in the Oklahoma House of Representatives elected in 1928 and 1930. He also served as chaplain for the Oklahoma House. He was a member of the Democratic Party. Cartwright was the patriarch of the Cartwright political family in Oklahoma. The Oklahoma House of Representatives is the lower house of the legislature of the U.S. state of Oklahoma. Its members introduce and vote on bills and resolutions, provide legislative oversight for state agencies, and help to craft the state's budget. The upper house of the Oklahoma Legislature is the Oklahoma Senate. The Oklahoma Constitution established the powers of the Oklahoma House of Representatives in 1907. Wapanucka (pronounced Wop´-uh-nuck´-uh) is a town in northeastern Johnston County, Oklahoma, United States. Jan Eric Cartwright (August 26, 1938 – February 21, 1986) was an American politician who served in the Oklahoma House of Representatives from the 13th district from 1971 to 1973 and as the Attorney General of Oklahoma from 1979 to 1983. Buck Cartwright
Buck Cartwright was an American politician who served in the Oklahoma House of Representatives between 1955 and 1958 and the Oklahoma Senate between 1958 and 1962. He was the son of Jackson Robert Cartwright and father of Jan Eric Cartwright. Biography Cartwright was the son of Jackson Robert Cartwright. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1942 and joined the U.S. Navy. While in the navy, he was commissioned as an officer. After returning to Oklahoma, he was an assistant county attorney in Seminole County, Oklahoma and Wewoka, Oklahoma's city attorney. He was a member of the Democratic Party. He served in the Oklahoma House of Representatives between 1955 and 1958 and the Oklahoma Senate between 1958 and 1962.
