Jackson Field (Lansing)
Jackson Field is a baseball stadium in Lansing, Michigan, home field of the Lansing Lugnuts minor league baseball team. The Michigan State Spartans college baseball team also plays select home games at Jackson Field. The stadium is situated in downtown Lansing in the Stadium District on a relatively narrow strip of land between and below Interstate 96 Business (Lansing, Michigan), Larch and Cedar streets. It is primarily used for baseball, though it has also hosted an ice skating rink, an outdoor movie theater, a haunted house, and served as a concert venue for the annual Common Ground Music Festival. Capitol Loop
The Capitol Loop is a state trunkline highway running through Lansing, Michigan, in the United States that was commissioned on October 13, 1989. It forms a loop route off Interstate 496 (I-496) through downtown near the Michigan State Capitol complex, home of the state legislature and several state departments. The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has labeled it as Capitol Loop I-496 or CL I-496 on some maps, similar to the Business Loop Interstate nomenclature. However, unlike other business loops in Michigan, it has unique reassurance markers—the signs that serve as regular reminders of the name and number of the highway. Common Ground Music Festival
The Common Ground Music Festival is an annual week-long music festival that takes place in downtown Lansing, Michigan. The July festival, which began in the year 2000 and attracts 50,000-plus people each year, is located at the Louis Adado Riverfront Park along the Grand River. Co-created by Center Park Productions and Meridian Entertainment Group, it showcases national and regional artists in contemporary and classic rock, pop, alternative, folk, country, hip hop, and R&B music. A year-round staff of about 10 people plan and organize the festival each year and get help from nearly 200 volunteers during the week of the event. The University of Michigan Rugby Football Club (UMRFC) is a rugby union club at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. The UMRFC currently plays in the Big Ten conference at the D1A level, the highest level of collegiate play under USA Rugby.
