Jackie Corkhill
Jacqueline "Jackie" Corkhill is a fictional character from the British television soap opera ''Brookside'', played by Sue Jenkins from 1991 to 2001. Storylines Jackie was introduced as the long-suffering estranged wife of Jimmy Corkhill (Dean Sullivan) in 1991, even though the character was first mentioned as early as 1986 when Jimmy first appeared; she continued to be mentioned regularly for the next five years. The two became one of the soaps most popular couples. Although they were estranged when Jimmy moved onto Brookside Close in 1986, they got back together in 1991 when she joined Jimmy at his house there. In 1995, Jimmy bought No 10 (his brother Billy's (John McArdle) old house) and Jimmy, Jackie and daughter Lindsey (Claire Sweeney) moved in. Sue Jenkins
Susan Elizabeth Jenkins (born 31 July 1955) is an English actress. She is most widely known for her roles as Gloria Todd in the ITV soap opera ''Coronation Street'' (1985–1988) and as Jackie Corkhill in the Channel 4 soap opera ''Brookside'' (1991–2001). Career Jenkins became an actress at the age of eighteen having studied at drama college. She worked in repertory theatres across the UK for the first 11 years of her career, performing in many productions, playing everything from Alan Ayckbourn to Shakespeare. The British Soap Awards (BSAs) are an annual awards ceremony in the United Kingdom which honours the best moments in British soap operas. The ceremony is televised on ITV and has been presented by Phillip Schofield since 2006. George Christopher
George Christopher (born George Christopheles; December 8, 1907 – September 14, 2000) was a Greek-American politician who served as the 34th mayor of San Francisco from 1956 to 1964. Vincent Earl (born 11 June 1944) is an English singer, comedian and actor most famous for his portrayal of the character Ron Dixon in the soap opera ''Brookside'', a role which he played from 1990 until the show's demise in 2003. Claire Jane Sweeney (born 17 April 1971) is an English actress, singer and television personality, best known for playing the role of Lindsey Corkhill in the Channel 4 soap opera ''Brookside'' and playing the role of Roxie Hart in the musical ''Chicago'' in London's West End. Early life Sweeney was born in Walton, Liverpool, the daughter of a butcher who had a shop in Toxteth. Sir Philip Redmond (born 10 June 1949) is an English television producer and screenwriter from Huyton, England. He is known for creating the television series ''Grange Hill'', ''Brookside'' and ''Hollyoaks''. John McArdle (born 16 August 1949) is an English actor. He is most notable for playing Billy Corkhill in the soap opera ''Brookside'', with many other smaller appearances in other soaps and dramas. Playing a regular character in ''Brookside''s heyday (alongside Ricky Tomlinson and Sue Johnston, and working with writers such as Jimmy McGovern), he made himself memorable with his portrayal of a man beyond breaking point, which culminated with him ranting at neighbours and churning up their lawns as he drove his car around in circles.
