Jackie Beard
Jackie Beard (born September 10, 1961) is an American former professional boxer who competed from 1981 to 1995, twice challenging for the WBA super featherweight title between 1989 and 1990. As an amateur, he won a gold medal at the 1979 Pan American Games and the 1979 Boxing World Cup. He was also the first boxer to win three consecutive US amateur championships in the same weight class. Amateur career A native of Jackson, Tennessee, Beard began boxing at the age of eight, following his brother into the sport. He became an amateur standout in the late 1970s. He won the National AAU bantamweight championship three times (1978, 1979, and 1980), becoming the first boxer to win three straight Senior titles in the same weight class. He also won the bantamweight championship in the 1978 National Golden Gloves Tournament, upsetting defending champion Wayne Lynumn early in the tournament. Professional boxing, or prizefighting, is regulated, sanctioned boxing. Professional boxing bouts are fought for a purse that is divided between the boxers as determined by contract. Technical Decision
A technical decision is a term used in boxing when a fight has to be stopped because of a headbutt. In boxing fights, referees have to pay deep attention to the action going on between the fighters, especially when the two combatants are fighting close to each other. That is because in the case of a cut, the referee must decide whether the cut was caused by a punch or a head collision. Only the referee can make that decision. Most head collisions in boxing are probably unintentional, especially when both boxers are trying for a knockout, many times getting involved in close range fights. If a boxer intentionally butts an opponent's head, that is considered a flagrant foul that could result in disqualification of the offender. Kenny Baysmore (born June 1, 1961 in Washington, D.C.), nicknamed The Technician, is an American former professional boxer. Baysmore won the 1979 National Golden Gloves bantamweight title. He turned professional in 1981, and after a successful career start he was named '' The Ring'' Prospect of the Year in 1983. This award existed between 1983 and 1988, and among others it was issued to future world champions Mark Breland, Mike Tyson and Michael Moorer. Baysmore won the USBA super featherweight title in 1984 TKOing Freddy Chumpitaz in the sixth round.
