Jack The Ripper (song)
"Jack the Ripper" is a song written by Clarence Stacy, his brother Charles Stacy, Walter Haggin and Joe Simmons, and first recorded by Clarence Stacy in 1961. His recording, arranged by Lor Crane, was issued that year as a single on the Carol record label in New York City. The most famous recording was by English musician Screaming Lord Sutch, released as a 7" single in the UK and Germany in 1963 on Decca. It was credited as written by "Stacey, Hagen, Symonds", produced by Joe Meek and recorded in his Holloway Road studio in Islington, England. The song was banned by the BBC upon its release. Musical composition Sutch's version of "Jack the Ripper" is two minutes and forty-eight seconds long, in the key of B-flat major, and 4/4 time. Screaming Lord Sutch
Screaming Lord Sutch (10 November 1940 – 16 June 1999), who had his name legally changed from David Edward Sutch, was an English musician and perennial parliamentary candidate. He was the founder of the Official Monster Raving Loony Party and served as its leader from 1983 to 1999, during which time he stood in numerous parliamentary elections. He holds the record for contesting the most Parliamentary elections, standing in 39 elections from 1963 to 1997. As a singer, he variously worked with Keith Moon, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Ritchie Blackmore, Charlie Watts, John Bonham and Nicky Hopkins, and is known for his recordings with Joe Meek including "Jack the Ripper" (1963). The Gruesomes are a Canadian garage punk band from Montreal, Quebec, Canada, that formed in 1985. The Rezillos
The Rezillos are a punk/ new wave band formed in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1976. Although emerging at the same time as other bands in the punk rock movement, the Rezillos did not share the nihilism or social commentary of their contemporaries, but instead took a more light-hearted approach in their songs, preferring to describe themselves at the time as "a new wave beat group". "Sheena Is a Parasite" is the debut single by English rock band the Horrors, released in April 2006 by Loog Records. Content The title and content were adapted from the Ramones single "Sheena Is a Punk Rocker" as well as the Cramps' "Sheena's in a Goth Gang", and chronicled the demise of punk music and its cultural influence.
