Jack Raleigh
John Raleigh (born 31 March 1890, died 1969) was an Irish hurler who played for the Tipperary senior team. Raleigh made his first appearance for the team during the 1913 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until he left the panel after the 1915 championship. During that time he won one Munster medal and one Croke Cup medal. Raleigh was an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. Emly or Emlybeg () is a village in County Tipperary, Ireland. It is a civil parish in the historical barony of Clanwilliam. Hurling ( ga, iománaíocht, ') is an outdoor team game of ancient Gaelic Irish origin, played by men. One of Ireland's native Gaelic games, it shares a number of features with Gaelic football, such as the field and goals, the number of players and much terminology. The 1915 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 29th staging of the All-Ireland hurling championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1887. The championship began on 25 April 1915 and ended on 24 October 1915. Clare were the defending champions, however, they were defeated in the provincial series.
