Jack McNie
John Duncan McNie (July 28, 1920 – September 2, 2006) was a politician in Ontario, Canada. He was a Progressive Conservative who served in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1971 until 1975 representing the riding of Hamilton West. He served in the cabinet of Bill Davis from 1972 to 1975. Background McNie was born in Scotland. He emigrated to Canada, settled in Hamilton, Ontario and married Mary Kathleen Skeans (1929–1980). Prior to being elected, McNie managed Kelley Advertising from the mid-1950s to 1971. Politics He was elected in the general election in 1971. Hamilton West was a federal electoral district in Ontario, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1904 to 2004. History The federal riding was created when the old riding of Hamilton was split in 1903. In 1903, the city of Hamilton was divided into two electoral districts: Hamilton East and Hamilton West. James Auld (politician)
James Alexander Charles Auld (July 22, 1921 – June 30, 1982) was an Ontario political figure. He represented Leeds in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1954 to 1981 as a Progressive Conservative member. Background He was born in Toronto, the son of James Carswell Auld, and educated in Toronto and at the University of Toronto. In 1946, he married Nancy Eleanor Gilmour. Auld served as captain in the Queen's Own Rifles. He participated in the D-Day landings at Normandy in 1944. He worked as a wholesaler in Brockville. George Albert Kerr (January 27, 1924 – May 21, 2007) was a politician in Ontario, Canada. He served in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1963 to 1985, and was a cabinet minister in the governments of John Robarts and Bill Davis. Bill Davis
William Grenville Davis, (July 30, 1929 – August 8, 2021) was a Canadian politician who served as the 18th premier of Ontario from 1971 to 1985. Davis was first elected as the member of provincial Parliament for Peel in the 1959 provincial election where he was a backbencher in the Conservative caucus led by Premier Leslie Frost. Under John Robarts, he was minister of education. During this period, he created the community college system and the network now known as TVOntario.
