Jack Martin (Australian Footballer)
Jack Martin (born 29 January 1995) is an Australian rules footballer who plays for the Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Early life Martin was born in Broome, Western Australia to an Indigenous Australian mother (Yawuru) and father (Yamatji). The family moved to Geraldton, Western Australia when Jack was 12 years of age. He attended Geraldton Senior College during his high school years. Martin made his senior football debut for the Towns Football Club in the Great Northern Football League at age 15. His team would reach the GNFL Grand Final later that year and he would line up on future Gold Coast Suns teammate Jaeger O'Meara on the wing. Jack Tracy Martin (August 15, 1922 – October 1, 2015) was an American basketball coach. Martin coached the Lamar Cardinals for 25 seasons in both the Lone Star Conference and the Southland Conference. Jack was a brigadier general in the Texas Air National Guard, and held a top security defense rating. He served in the Pacific throughout World War II, and was a veteran of more than 35 years in the Air Force. Personal life Martin was born on August 15, 1922 in Desdemona, Texas, to Ernest William and Betty Myers Martin. He was raised in Burkett, Texas with his sister Lois. Following graduation from Burkett High School in 1937, he attended John Tarleton Agricultural College in Stephenville, Texas, on a basketball scholarship, participated in the ROTC program and majored in petroleum engineering. John Christopher Martin (April 19, 1887 – July 4, 1980) was a weak-hitting, slick-fielding infielder in Major League Baseball, playing mainly at shortstop for three different teams between the and seasons. Listed at , 159 lb., he batted and threw right-handed. A native of Plainfield, New Jersey, Martin played baseball for Plainfield High School. After a lengthy minor league baseball career, Martin entered the majors in 1912 as the regular shortstop for the Yankees, when they were known as the New York Highlanders. In 1914, he divided his playing time between the Boston Braves and Philadelphia Phillies. In a three-year career, Martin was a .237 hitter (144-for-608) with 66 runs and 43 RBI in 187 games, including 13 doubles, four triples, 20 stolen bases, and a .323 on-base percentage without home runs. John Martin (1882 – after 1911) was an English professional footballer who scored 55 goals from 122 appearances in the Football League playing as a centre forward for Lincoln City and Blackburn Rovers. He also played Southern League football for Brighton & Hove Albion and Millwall Athletic and in the North-Eastern League for Hartlepools United. Jim Warren is an American Top Fuel Dragster driver. He won two National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) and two American Hot Rod Association (AHRA) national events. John Charles Martin (25 July 1903 – 31 December 1976) was an English professional footballer who played as a central defender. Career Yorkshire-born Martin crossed the Pennines to begin his career with Lancashire club Burnley in 1923. After failing to break into ''the Clarets''' first team, he joined Accrington Stanley the following year. The defender made twenty-eight league appearances for ''Stanley'', scoring one goal, before joining Frank Buckley's Blackpool in 1926. John Taber Martin (April 10, 1922 - January 8, 2008) was an American football player. Martin was born in 1922 in Flint, Michigan. He moved to Toledo, Ohio, as a boy and attended Point Place High School and later Waite High School. enrolled at Princeton University and played freshman football in 1940, and varsity football as a reserve center for the 1941 Princeton Tigers football team team. He was then accepted to the United States Naval Academy where he played for the Navy Midshipmen football teams in 1943 and 1944. He was selected as a second-team center on the 1943 All-Eastern football team, and the second-team center on the 1944 All-America football teams selected by the United Press and ''The Sporting News''. After his time at the Naval Academy, Martin spent two years on active duty with the Navy. In 1946, he played for the Navy's Bainbridge Commodores football team.
