Jack Mannix
Norman John Mannix (16 August 1920 – 17 June 1994) was an Australian politician and a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1952 until 1971 . He was a member of the Labor Party and held the position of Justice Minister (in charge of NSW gaols) between 1960 and 1965. Early and personal life Mannix was born in Armidale, New South Wales He was the son of a salesman and was educated at De La Salle College, Armidale. He initially worked as a clerk in the NSW public service and studied law in his spare time. He was the chief clerk in the Department of Housing prior to his election to parliament. Mannix was called to the bar in 1955. He became involved in community organizations in the Liverpool area including the local hospital board and the co-operative building society. George Paciullo
George Paciullo, OAM (; 20 February 19349 October 2012) was an Australian politician. He was the Labor member for Liverpool in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1971 to 1989, and served as a minister from 1984 to 1988. Paciullo was born in Sydney to market gardener Sisto Paciullo and his wife Immacolata, who had come to Australia from Calabria during the Great Depression. He attended public schools at Liverpool and Homebush, and was employed as a survey draftsmen with the New South Wales Soil Conservation Service upon his graduation in 1951. He underwent national service in 1952 and subsequently served in the Citizen Military Forces for three years. In 1958, he joined the Labor Party, and the following year was elected to Liverpool City Council. On 3 November 1964, he married Janette Blinman, with whom he had a son named Murray. Robert Heffron
Robert James Heffron (10 September 189027 July 1978), also known as Bob Heffron or R. J. Heffron, was a long-serving New South Wales politician, union organiser and Labor Party Premier of New South Wales from 1959 to 1964. Born in New Zealand, Heffron became involved in various Socialist and labour movements in New Zealand and later Australia before joining the Australian Labor Party. Being a prominent unionist organiser, having been gaoled at one stage for "conspiracy to strike action", he was eventually elected to the Parliament of New South Wales for Botany in 1930. However his disputes with party leader Jack Lang led to his expulsion from the ALP in 1936 and Heffron formed his own party from disgruntled Labor MPs known as the Industrial Labor Party. The success of his party enabled his readmission to the party and his prominence in a post-Lang NSW Branch which won office in 1941. Elections for the New South Wales Legislative Assembly were held in the state of New South Wales, Australia, on Saturday 13 February 1971. The Liberal- Country Party coalition government led by Sir Robert Askin won a third term in office. The Labor Party opposition was led by Pat Hills. NSW Maritime
NSW Maritime, the trading name of Maritime Authority of New South Wales, was an agency of the Government of New South Wales, Australia responsible for marine safety, regulation of commercial and recreational boating and oversight of port operations. The Authority had responsibility for marine incident investigation, including the causes of incidents involving shipping and commercial vessels and breaches of State or Commonwealth navigation laws. James McGirr
James "Jim" McGirr, Justice of the peace, JP (6 February 1890 – 27 October 1957) was the Australian Labor Party (New South Wales Branch), Labor Premier of New South Wales from 6 February 1947 to 3 April 1952. A Catholic, McGirr was the seventh son of John Patrick McGirr, farmer and Irish immigrant, and Mary McGirr, whose maiden name was O'Sullivan. Born in Parkes, New South Wales, Parkes, New South Wales, he grew up on a dairy farm near that town.
