Jack Lott
Jacques P. Lott (July 15, 1920 – August 12, 1993), best known as Jack Lott, was a big game hunter, writer, historian, and inventor of the .458 Lott, a renowned .458 caliber belted hunting cartridge. He was a biographer of Frederick Russell Burnham and a frequent contributor on gun topics. Early life Born in Maryland, Jack Lott was named after his uncle, Pessou Jacques Lott. In his early youth, his family moved to California and he graduated Beverly Hills High School and Los Angeles City College. He developed an early interest in military history, big game, and guns, and learned to make his own gun barrels on a lathe. Gunsmith and writer Lott was a trained machinist and a tool-and-die man who worked for Pachmayr in the 1960s. Rhodesian Bush War
The Rhodesian Bush War, also called the Second as well as the Zimbabwe War of Liberation, was a civil conflict from July 1964 to December 1979 in the unrecognised country of Rhodesia (later Zimbabwe-Rhodesia). A-Square Company, LLC was a manufacturer of rifles, ammunition and bullets based in Chamberlain, South Dakota in the United States. The company was one of 19 that are members of the Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturer's Institution (SAAMI). The company's focus was on its firearms for hunting large dangerous game. This was reflected in the selection of larger caliber chamberings in the company's rifles. History The company was established 1979. Lieutenant Colonel Arthur B. Alphin was the founder and chief designer for the A-Square Company. Besides the company location in Chamberlain, South Dakota, the company had a location in Bedford, Kentucky. Craig Boddington is a professional hunter, TV show host, author and United States Marine Corps, Marine. Biography Craig Boddington was born in Kansas in 1952. His early big-game experience included pronghorn and mule deer in Wyoming, White-tailed deer, whitetail and mule deer in Kansas, and mule deer in Colorado. A notable portion of his early years was dedicated to Scout (Scouting), Boy Scout activities.
