Jack Hughes (rugby League)
Jack Hughes (born 4 January 1992) is an English rugby league footballer who plays as a and for the Leigh Leopards in the Betfred Super League and the England Knights at international level. Hughes played for the Wigan Warriors in the Super League, and on loan from Wigan at the Barrow Raiders, Leigh Centurions and Workington Town in the Championship, and the Huddersfield Giants in the top flight. He also played for the Warrington Wolves in the Super League. Early life Hughes was born on 4 January 1992 in Billinge Higher End, Wigan, Greater Manchester, England. He attended Golborne High School for his secondary education. Before joining Wigan officially in 2008, Hughes played for Golborne Parkside, right up until u16s age level, and then amateur Wigan St Judes feeder club. Billinge Higher End
Higher End or Billinge Higher End is an area of the Metropolitan Borough of Wigan, Greater Manchester, England. Governance Billinge was a civil parish lying within the historic county boundaries of Lancashire on 2 February 1837 it was divided into two townships, Billinge Chapel End and Billinge Higher End when the Wigan poor law union was formed merging the workhouse provision of 20 parishes in the Wigan area. The poor law union built the Wigan Poor Law Infirmary in 1906 which became Billinge Hospital. In 1872 Billinge Local Board of Health was established for the area of these two townships and two detached parts of Winstanley township (one known as Blackley Hurst and the other situated in the Carr Mill area, both lying within the area of Billinge Chapel End township). The 2018 Challenge Cup Final was the 117th cup-deciding game of the rugby league 2018 Challenge Cup Season. It was held at Wembley Stadium in London on 25 August 2018, kick off 15:00. The 2016 Super League Grand Final was the 19th official Grand Final and conclusive and championship-deciding match of the Super League XXI season. It was held on Saturday 8 October 2016, at Old Trafford, Manchester, with a 6pm kick-off time. British rock band Feeder provided the pre-match and half-time entertainment. England National Rugby League Team
The England national rugby league team represents England in international rugby league. The team, largely formed from the Great Britain team which also represented Wales and Scotland, is run under the auspices of the Rugby Football League. It participates in the Rugby League World Cup, Four Nations and Test matches. The team dates to 1904, when they played against a mixture of Welsh and Scottish players in Wigan. Until the 1950s, they regularly toured Australia and New Zealand and played both home and away matches against neighbours Wales and France, but when it was decided that Great Britain would tour the Southern Hemisphere instead of England, France and Wales became the only regular opponents.
