Jack Howell (triathlete)
Jack Howell (born 28 February 2004) is an Australian para-triathlete. He competed at the 2024 Paris Paralympics. Personal Howell was born on 28 February 2004at 33 weeks premature in Canberra. His premature birth resulted in condition known as Symbrachydactyly Symbrachydactyly is a congenital abnormality, characterized by limb anomalies consisting of brachydactyly, cutaneous syndactyly and global hypoplasia of the hand or foot. Paratriathlon
Para triathlon is a variant of the triathlon for athletes with a physical disability. The sport is governed by World Triathlon (TRI) (formerly known as ITU), and was first held as a Paralympic event at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. At events sanctioned by World Triathlon, athletes compete over a Para triathlon sprint distance event with a 750 m swim, 20 km cycle using handcycles, bicycles or tandem bicycles with a guide and a 5 km wheelchair or running race. Symbrachydactyly
Symbrachydactyly is a congenital abnormality, characterized by limb anomalies consisting of brachydactyly, cutaneous syndactyly and global hypoplasia of the hand or foot. In many cases, bones will be missing from the fingers and some fingers or toes may be missing altogether. The ends of the hand may have "nubbins"—small stumps of soft tissue where the finger would have developed, which may have tiny residual nails. No clear statistics are available regarding the incidence rate for symbrachydactyly. This may be due, in part, to the wide variety of definitions and classifications that are used in diagnosis. In most cases, children born with symbrachydactyly are able to adapt to their physical limitations and experience a fully functional life with no treatment. Kambrya College
Kambrya College is a state government funded coeducational secondary school located in Berwick, Victoria, Australia. Opening in 2002 with 97 Year 7 students, the school quickly grew to over 1600 students by 2007. The school has facilities for visual and performing arts, information technology, science, hospitality, wood and metal workshops, dedicated automotive workshop as well as a fitness centre. The school also had over 25 portable classrooms, largely due to its rapid growth in its early years, however since 2014 at least 10 of the older portables have been relinquished. Paratriathlon Classification
Paratriathlon classification is the classification system for athletes participating in paratriathlon. It is governed by the World Triathlon (formerly known as ITU) The sport has been included in the 2016 Summer Paralympics. Classification system from 2017 World Triathlon has implemented some modifications to the classification system that was introduced in 2014 after further research was conducted to address certain aspects of the previous system. A triathlon is an endurance multisport race consisting of swimming, cycling, and running over various distances. Triathletes compete for fastest overall completion time, racing each segment sequentially with the time transitioning between the disciplines included.
