Jack Hodgson (historian)
Jack Hodgson is a British historian, academic, and writer who specializes in the history of children and childhood in the United States and Spain. Hodgson's work focuses particularly on children's political activism and experiences of warfare in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Career Hodgson completed his Bachelor of Arts, BA (Hons) and Master of Arts, MA at Teesside University and then completed his Doctor of Philosophy, PhD at Northumbria University under the supervision of Joe Street and Tony Badger. Hodgson was Badger's 37th and final PhD student before his retirement as a professor. His thesis was titled "Californians and others: marginalised children and the Golden State during the Great Depression." The fifth chapter of the thesis implicated the state of California in covering up the circumstances of children's deaths in custody at Whittier State School. Silent Witness
''Silent Witness'' is a British crime drama television series produced by the BBC, which focuses on a team of forensic pathology experts and their investigations into various crimes. First broadcast in 1996, the series was created by Nigel McCrery, a former murder squad detective based in Nottingham. Twenty-five series of ''Silent Witness'' have been broadcast since 1996. Amanda Burton starred as primary character Dr. Sam Ryan before leaving the show during the eighth series. Since her departure the series has featured an ensemble cast, which initially consisted of William Gaminara, Tom Ward and Emilia Fox, and later on David Caves, Liz Carr and Richard Lintern alongside Emilia Fox. At the end of series 23 Carr and Lintern both departed. The cast was joined by Genesis Lynea from series 24.
