Jack Hardy (sometimes Richard Enmale), born Dale Zysman (November 18, 1901 - July 2, 1993?), was a 20th-Century Communist author labor leader as "Jack Hardy" and a teacher and board member of the New York City Teachers Union under his birth name "Dale Zysman": investigation by the New York Board of Education (now the New York City Department of Education) led to public awareness that the two names belonged to one person and subsequent expulsion from the school system in 1941. Career High school coach In November 1927, Zysman is pictured as a football coach of the "New Utrecht Gridders" of Brooklyn. In September 1928, he is listed as one of three football coaches in Brooklyn. "Zysman steps into the shoes of Hyman Saul, who withdrew after being at the helm for two years. Zysman was Saul's assistant in 1927." Zysman's football team lost in October 1928 but was thought ready to win in November. Jackson Alexander "Jack" Hardy (November 1, 1924 – August 22, 2006) was a politician in Manitoba, Canada. He was the mayor of St. Vital, and served in the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba from 1969 to 1971 as a member of the Progressive Conservative Party. Early life and career The son of Dufferin A. Hardy and Martha Gracer, Hardy was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II, and subsequently became an accountant at the Fort William Grain Elevator. Transferred to Winnipeg in 1950, he settled in the suburban community of St. Vital. Hardy married Catherine Mary Murray in 1945. Politician Hardy was a municipal councillor in St. Vital for four years, and spent a further five years as the community's mayor. He was elected to the Manitoba legislature in the 1969 provincial election, defeating New Democratic Party candidate Jim Walding by only 23 votes in the St. Vital electoral division. John Studebaker "Jack" Hardy (November 23, 1947 – March 11, 2011) was an American singer-songwriter and playwright based in Greenwich Village, who was influential as a writer, performer, and mentor in the North American and European folk music scenes for decades. He was cited as a major influence by Suzanne Vega, John Gorka, and many others who emerged from that scene in the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. Hardy was the author of hundreds of songs, and toured tirelessly for almost forty years. He was also the founding editor of '' Fast Folk Musical Magazine'', a periodical famous within music circles for twenty years that shipped with a full album (and later, compact disc) in each issue, whose entire catalog is now part of the Smithsonian Folkways collection. John Doolittle Hardy (June 23, 1877 – October 20, 1921) was an American professional baseball player for nine seasons from 1903 to 1911. Used principally as a catcher and outfielder, he played parts of four seasons in Major League Baseball for the Cleveland Naps, Chicago Cubs, and Washington Senators. He also played several seasons in Minor League Baseball, appeared in a total 642 professional games. Early years Hardy was born in 1877 in Cleveland. Professional baseball The earliest record of Hardy's participation in professional baseball is from 1903 when, at age 26, Hardy played five games for the Cleveland Naps of the American League, 74 games for the Los Angeles team in the Pacific National League, and 21 games for the Fort Wayne Railroaders of the Central League.
