Jack Duggan (hurler)
John Duggan (6 November 1902 – 17 August 1990) was an Irish hurler. His inter-county career with the Kilkenny senior hurling team lasted from 1929 until 1938. Knockmoylan GAA
Knockmoylan GAA was a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Knockmoylan, County Kilkenny, Ireland. The club was primarily concerned with the game of hurling. History Located in the southern part of the parish of Ballyhale, the Knockmoylan cub spent much of its existence operating in the junior grade. The club had its most successful period between 1919 and 1932 when four Southern Kilkenny JHC titles were won. Knockmoylan achieved senior status for the first time in 1926 when they won the Kilkenny JHC title after a defeat of Conahy in the final. Knockmoylan went into a period of decline following this, as three clubs - Knocktopher, Knockmoylan and Ballyhale - all operated within the one parish. Despite some opposition, Knocktopher and Ballyhale eventually joined to form Ballyhale Shamrocks in January 1972. 1931 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship
The 1931 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 45th staging of the All-Ireland hurling championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1887. The championship began on 10 May 1931 and ended on 1 November 1931. Tipperary were the defending champions, however, they were defeated in the provincial series of games. Cork won the title following a 5-8 to 3-4 victory over Kilkenny in a second replay of the final. Mooncoin () is a census town in County Kilkenny, in Ireland. The population was 1,175 in 2016. Historically part of the Gaelic kingdom of Osraige, today it is in the far south of the county of Kilkenny, located in the valley of the River Suir. Paddy Larkin
Patrick Larkin (26 July 1905 – 19 September 1976) was an Irish hurler who played as a full-back for the Kilkenny senior team. Born in Patrick St., Kilkenny, Larkin first played competitive hurling during his school days at St. Patrick's De La Salle. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of twenty when he first linked up with the Kilkenny senior team in various tournament games, before later lining out with the junior side. He made his competitive senior debut in the 1929–30 National Hurling League. Larkin went on to play a key part for Kilkenny during a hugely successful era, and won four All-Ireland medals, nine Leinster medals and one National Hurling League medal. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on four occasions. As a representative on the Leinster inter-provincial team for much of his inter-county career, Larkin won three Railway Cup medals in 1932, 1933 and 1936. The National Hurling League is an annual Inter county, inter-county hurling competition featuring teams from Ireland and England. Founded in 1925 by the Gaelic Athletic Association, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation within the league system. The league has 35 teams divided into six divisions, with either five or six teams in each division. Promotion and relegation between these divisions is a central feature of the league. Although primarily a competition for Irish teams, teams from England – currently Lancashire GAA, Lancashire, London GAA, London and Warwickshire GAA, Warwickshire – also take part, while in the past New York GAA, New York also fielded a team for the latter stages of the league. The 1937 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 51st staging of the All-Ireland hurling championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1887. The championship began on 16 May 1937 and ended on 5 September 1937.
