Jack Catterall
Jack Catterall (born 1 July 1993) is an English professional boxer who held the British light-welterweight title in 2017 and challenged for the undisputed light-welterweight title in February 2022. Early life Jack Catterall was born on 1 July 1993 in Chorley, Lancashire. One of nine children in the household, Catterall took part in judo and wrestling before finding his way into boxing at the age of 10. Before getting into boxing full time, he took a college course in public services and worked a job laying tarmac to fund his gym sessions. Points Decision
A points decision is a winning criterion in several full-contact combat sports, such as boxing, kickboxing, Muay Thai, mixed martial arts and others sports involving striking. Unlike normal decisions where there are three judges that agree on which fighter won the match, the fight is scored by the referee, who determines who wins the bout. In some boxing matches, particularly when sanctioned by the British Boxing Board of Control in the United Kingdom, the referee is responsible for scoring (round by round) which fighter they feel is winning (and losing). Martin Gethin (born 16 November 1983) is a British former professional boxer who competed from 2004 to 2017. He held the British lightweight title from 2013 to 2014. Early professional career Gethin made his debut in November 2004 beating journeyman Kristian Laight stopping him in the 4th round. In his 10th fight he fought for the vacant Midlands Area lightweight title beating Craig Johnson on points over 10 rounds. Joe Hughes (boxer)
Joe Hughes is an English professional boxer who was born with Erb's palsy. He held the European light-welterweight title from 2018 to 2019 and challenged twice for the same title, along with two attempts at the British light-welterweight title between 2017 and 2019. Early life Joe Hughes was born on 6 August 1990 in Bath, Somerset, and grew up in Malmesbury, Wiltshire. He developed Erb's palsy after dislocating his shoulder during birth, a condition which causes paralysis due to damaged nerves. Due to the condition, his right arm failed to develop properly and is three inches shorter than his left. Chris Jenkins (born 14 August 1988) is a Welsh professional boxer who held the British and Commonwealth welterweight titles between 2019 and July 2021.
