Jack C.F. Blanton
Chester Franklin "Jack" Blanton (January 29, 1921 – October 12, 2002) was an American politician, businessman, and newspaper editor. Born in Shawnee, Kansas, Blanton moved with his family to Carrollton, Texas where his family owned a grain mill. During World War II, he helped build airfields. He received his bachelor's degree from Southern Methodist University in 1955. He was a newspaper editor and president of a bank. He served as Mayor of Carrollton, Texas from 1946 to 1948. Then, Blanton served in the Texas House of Representatives from 1969 to 1973 as a Democrat. His brother William W. Blanton also served in the Texas Legislature. Shawnee, Kansas
Shawnee is a city in Johnson County, Kansas, United States. It is the seventh most populous municipality in the Kansas City metropolitan area. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 67,311. History Territory of Kansas Before and after the American Civil War, Shawnee served as a government road that connected Fort Leavenworth to Fort Riley. During the mid 19th century, branches of the Oregon Trail and nearby Santa Fe Trail that travelled through, Olathe, Overland Park and Kansas City, Missouri saw settlers travel through the area. Carrollton is a city in Dallas, Denton, and Collin counties in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 133,434, making it the 23rd-most populous city in Texas.
